    RIP Gentle Lee

Sadly we had to have Anna (Gentle Lee) put to sleep last week, she was just a few weeks short of 14. She has been a wonderful dog and a fantastic brood bitch. Her first litter of 8 to Zac Attack all raced in C5 and between them won 178 races and $322,830 in prize money. Her other two litters won 67 races with $126,305, so totalling 247 wins & $458,235 in total We could not have asked for a better kennel dog, clean and quiet. She was a very good mum to all her pups, looked after them really well. She certainly was named well, Gentle by name and gentle by nature. She still lives on here, as out of 6 retired dogs 5 of them are her offspring. She will be sadly missed. RIP Anna

  3. Dream on Cyrus - full litter sister to Zak Attack - has just come into season.(Zak Attack sire of good litter - over 120 winners-including My Jack Attack, Motherlee, Kissin Kate, Rolled Oats, Blue Jean Alice etc.) If any person is interested in breeding from this bitch please contact me on 078868115 or Email me at [email protected].
  4. Does anyone know the final filed for this race?
  5. Hi Dusty Dreamer Do'nt know but sure am pleased to have bred this litter. They all got to C5 and with the exception of Corporal Jones they are all there at the moment. Hope they continue their winning ways.
  6. This litter, of eight, has now won a total of 100 races between them. My Jack Attack has 24 wins with Kissin Kate on 18. Hopefully there will be more winners for this litter. The litter of Gentle Lee - Riddle Man are now 10 months old and I understand that they are all progressing well!
  7. GRIZZLY The dog QUALIFIED in July 2011 and as such was graded CO by NZGRA on its arrival in NZ. I can see no reason why you are on your soapbox about this dog. If it wasn't a Schofield dog would you be kicking up such a stink?
  8. The new rule states quite clearly " FROM August 1st 2011 if there are not 4 or more starters in an Austrailian trial then the imported greyhound must qualify under the NZGRA Rules. THIS DOG QUALIFIED IN AUSTRAILIA PRIOR TO THIS DATE.
  9. Does anyone know of any other New Zealand bred litter of 8 that have all reached C5? The Zac Attack/Gentle Lee litter attained this milestone when Dolly Scramble won at Auckland yesterday.
  10. Big Archie was 6years and 6 months old when he finished racing and loved every minute of it! He is still running around the paddocks like a puppy. By the way he is one of only two Overtime dogs left. Should I put him to stud?????!!!!!
  11. If you don't ask you will never know the asking price! You may be pleasantly suprised. If you want to know you can always phone me.
  12. Can u beat this one? When Big Archie started racing he ran in a non tote race, finished 1st and was swabbed!!!! It is the first time i had heard of this has anyone else had this happen, I have not heard of one since.
  13. dustydreamnz Thanks. Our hope is that this litter will be strong over 500 plus. The stud was a very clever racer and very strong over 500 and the bitch was good over 457 - so we have high hopes. We have had a lot of interest in the litter so don't know how many we will be keeping.
  14. Gentle Lee (Anna)(with the assistance of Riddleman) presented Penny Sutch Jones with the best ever birthday present - eight big healthy pups. Puppies, mother and Penny all doing fine after long sleepless night. Keith Sutch Jones

Glen You finished racing at 3pm why didn't you go to see either Steve at Matamata or your own vet when you got home? Surely if the bone was sticking out as you say then the first thing I would do would be to go to another vet and not wait until the next day. If as you say the dog was in so much pain during the night why didn't you get the emergency vet to come and look at your dog? I hate to see dogs injured during racing but I am sure the racecourse vets know when a dog has a bone protruding he/she would not say it's just a dislocation. Anyway sorry to hear about your loss.
