Ross is retiring from his role as Clerk of the Course. He will be greatly missed. Racecourses are covered within the Domains Act legislation carried forward from 1882 and more recently 1977 Reserves Act. They are required to be kept in perpetuity for the use of all members of the public never to be built on permanently - same argument/ discussions are going on in Auckland with Western Springs Stadium & Takapuna Golf course.
