  1. Hardly suprising, there is no competition over there. When unwanted farm hacks from Germany become your WFA stars over there thrashing your so called 'bluebloods' by 300k a shot overpriced stallions then even our handfull of poorly bred donkeys we produce each year find it easy to win races. You are blessed with some of the best bloodlines in the world that we can only dream about here, yet you lot are flat producing anything capable of not dropping dead after it's prelim from exhaustion.
  2. The dementia wards must have internet access now.
  3. No matter which way you look at it, thoroughbred racing is getting hammered. Complacency seems to be NZTRs mantra. The only Sunday paper with any racing coverage is the SST, yet it is dominated by harness racing Newsprint is all but dead anyway so a comprehensive and informative website based on thoroughbreds is the key, with a committed investment from NZTR. A decent mobile app where the info is constantly accessible would also help maintain regular customer interest.

    Boycott

They couldn't have been much worse than D Butcher in the first race.
  5. I think NZ racing is all but fee ucked. A significant restructure is obviously on it's way which will have nothing to offer other than a substantial downsizing. For a start NZ thoroughbred must get out of bed with harness and greyhounds, in fact they should not be living on the same street, because each night the greyhounds feast on one of our limbs as we sleep, yet we continue to tuck them in at night.....unbelievable!
  6. It seems to me that all these appointments bring with them is rhetoric. They know exactly what the industry wants to hear, therefore they know exactly what the industry wants.......but these guys never seem to deliver. I can understand that they need time before being judged, but the last thing this industry needs is mission statements, power point presentations from overpriced consultants, and pages of rhetoric outlining goals and false promises. I couldn't care less what your credentials or goals are, just shut your mouth and get the job done that we all know needs to be done.
  7. When you consider his last win was in the Grp 1 Emirates at Flemington, and has had four starts in NZ since without a win, why wouldn't you continue to race in Aus. Not to mention his owners have a strong history with the Moroney stable, so was probably a natural choice given that Lynds is based here. You really are a random critic Jane.
  8. Hawke, Jane is left of left field at the best of times, so I wouldn't panic too much. She runs her races in circles so you will never know which is the front, and which is the back. Most of us understood where you are coming from, and you are right, her pedigree page does read a little better than Sunlines. Not that it matters, both are fantastic horses and will always hold their own against any level of criticism. People are just splitting hairs on this issue.
  9. The only thing the connections of Rain Affair would acknowledge is that having him labelled as the 'real deal' by you, consigns him to the scrap heap. Now, thanks to you, unless he is racing in Sydney and covered in mud he couldn't win a beach race. Needless to say the connections of BC send their deepest gratitude. Mr "I make a profit each year from punting" couldn't label a can of baked beans!
  10. .....or even the "real deal" Rain Affair.
  11. Brian's copy of the email was up for a short time on the the thoroughbred page, and to be honest Brian basically accused zzz of theft, so he deserved a spell. I can see Brian does a great job on the tipping forum but he has only got his own ignorance to blame here. I dont think some of you understand, zzz has no obligation to fund your tipping comps and nor should he, but i am sure he has no objections to starting your own pool to help Brian out. I am sure Brian deserves some thanks from those who participate in his comps, but he was way out of line in demanding financial help from zzz.
  12. If it were me it would be niether. Makybe Diva for me thanks. BC has not avoided competition, they have avoided her. Hay list is undoubtedly the second best sprinter in Aus if not the world, and she certainly didn't shy away from him, and that was in his own back yard.
  13. Well if the chairman does stand down then that may give Bayliss a little more room to move, but obviously it all depends on the new board.
  14. For someone that has had a rapid rise through the ranks, in terms of carrer moves, his lack of due diligence on this one is surprising. He has to play to his board......one that has already fashioned a terrible record, and will use him as another puppet in the theatre of damage control. Who knows, maybe he craves the stress free environment of being a bank teller again....because three years from now his resume will be completely destroyed leaving him minimal employment opportunities. I would say that MS has worked this guy over big time and he has no idea just how difficult it will be for him, and how hamstrung his options are.
  15. Why would you bother to understand or even question Pogo's opinion of BC. It is like asking Hitler for advice on human rights. He was a deeply closeted homosexual whom had a long term affair with a deeply closeted lesbian, paralleled with numerous other issues meant his views were viciously distorted and obviously irrelevant. Lesson is.....ignore pogo's views on anything racing in the same way the Germans should have ignored Hitler!
