  1. While you are at it , checkout the turnover figures , somewhere in that period turnover dropped $100 million , it's in one of the annual reports and of course the stakes I am quoting are this seasons , stakes certainly went down not long after the introduction of co mingling /internationalisation but are now tracking back up as my posts show .
  2. The stakes on offer at the Riccarton carnival this year are $175,000 more than last year , that's good progress , let's hope it continues .
  3. (1) the winner of the G1 was super impressive so perhaps he is as good as the previous winners you quoted , time will tell . (2) Nothing selective about my posts , the stakes for the weekend races I quote are correct and prove racing is improving . Nobody needs to race for the smaller money , it's a choice . (3) Where the money comes from is totally irrelevant , as long as it keeps coming . (4) The million dollar race was a Winston special , not funded by the usual revenue streams . (5) No positive comments , that's no surprise ,it's what I expect , I'm quoting undeniable facts which leaves the negative brigade no room to move . (6) Ownership is a choice , the fact that ownership has remained stable in recent years proves owners have a very good understanding of where racing is and what to expect , suffering ?, it seems not . (7) Pay attention to Hesi's post , the last line and learn something . Looking forward to cup day .
  4. $6000 start , that's the problem , far two expensive
  5. Recently I have highlighted the good stake money available at the better meetings in the last few weeks , it continues . Lets examine Riccarton ... Day one , minimum stake $30,000 , this includes a maiden race , the winner receives $17,500 and they pay $400 back to tenth .The best stake on the day ,$400,000 . This an overall increase of $40,000 on the day compared to last year . Day two , minimum stake again , $30,000 with two maiden races programed , the best stake ,$230,000 , the next best $100,00 , next $80,000. This is an overall increase on the day compared to last year of $70,000 . What a great result for racing , racing is on a roll , let's hope those responsible for these improvements continue the good work .
  6. Probably the entry fees , $287 , $345 ,$805 and the final payment of $4600 . Just over $6000 to start . The only bright spot is they pay $4000 back to tenth , perhaps that's why they have only ten starters . These staggered type of entry fees on these type of races are a con and should be done away with .
  7. Bonanza continues , Riccartons turn . 10 races , minimum stake of $30,000 and that includes a maiden race , the winner gets $17,500 and they pay $400 back to tenth . Next best , two at $50,000 and the big one , the filly's race $400,000 . It must be time to add up the stakes that have been on offer at the better meetings in the last four weeks starting with Hastings where the minimum stake was $40,000 . Just checking ahead at what's available on the second day , Ah yes , open1600 $230,000 also a F/M 1400 , $80,000 , looking good . I hope my factual posts on stakes are helpful and encourage people to target the better money
  8. Wrong coloured flag von outhouse should be Gold , Spanish gold
  9. Some more interesting numbers . Acceptances for the next few days . Rotorua Friday 121 , Waikato Sat 155 , Riccarton Sat 129 , and Sunday Hastings 92 . That makes a grand total of 1090 acceptors from Tuesday to Sunday, that's a lot of horses going around . Anyone bothered to add up the money that's been available in the last four weeks at the better meetings ?
  10. The roll continues , big noms for the weekend Friday Rotorua , 144 ,Saturday Waikato 164 , Riccarton Saturday 141 and plenty at Hastngs on Sunday . Yep it's all go .
  11. Well Well Von Outhouse , I was tempted to add my selection but resisted , SPANISH GOLD $38 / $8.9 and yes I backed It :D
  12. Not good enough 2admin2 , this is not the first time you have shown very poor judgement as we both know . It's time you corrected your deliberate misleading post , it reeks of desperation .
  13. New Tactic I see 2admin2 has taken to altering my post . Check my post 17 with his post 21 .
  14. Big mistake , don't do it . Recently a trainer remarked to me on why they were doing better financially . Over time they had taken shares in various horses , this is a cost that sneaks up on you and decimates profits , this trainer relinquished their part ownership in several horses and has prospered ever since .
  15. Sounds great but where's the money coming from ?? You must be one of those who advocate selling 70% of the tracks in NZ and using the money raised to develop Ellerslie , Avondale ,Trentham , and Riccarton to a truly international standard . Anyway back on topic , the acceptors are there for everyone to see , 593 in the next two days . . .
