Good pick,Peter, out of all those over priced yearling purchases. She Ran 2nd and a very good run and paid $3 place.I still like Rio Fortune's half brother Ready Fortune. He was an outstanding yearling,LOT 175 2011 Westbury Premier: and at $135k I thought he had a lot of upside as a Ready to Run horse. Brother Lee and I were just $95K short of budget to buy him !!

My wonderful Brother rated her 80% fit for the Foxbridge Plate Good judge ! She was as big as bull,before her Te Aroha exhibition gallop. Xanadu galloped immediately before her. If you replayed their work ( which thankfully Trackside recorded thanks to .... Greg Corban) there was a huge biase to Fleur's work.To open them at equal 5/1 favs in the Foxbridge was an indignity to Fleur de Lune's status.We had a fair old go and have more to come, maybe, if her legs hang on !She was 18/1 at Hastings in two weeks.Sometimes we get it right !! Ronnie gave her an emotional farewell at the last showing of RETRO. The programme shuts down for a month or so ( as should NZ racing).
