  1. des coppins in todays informant magazine says "awapuni gets the all clear".????
  2. haha youve had too many screwdrivers havnt you?lol
  3. haha well as i said 2admin2 did ask.maybe he too was in ozzy at the time.dont forget though trumpet,if you dont learn from the mistakes of history, you are bound to repeat it.lol
  4. "sporn"????? did you go to school in aussie too??lol at least muldoon got something right about you kind raising the iq of both countries lol
  5. surely i dont really have to point this out to you?? oh well, but only seeing as you asked for it.....haha think big was an interventionist state economic strategy which saw the national govt borrow heavily overseas running up a large external deficit to create large scale petrochemical and energy related industrial projects producing electricity, ammonia, urea fertiliser, methanol and petrol.(sounds all a bit communistic dosnt it?maybe thats why muldoon had a phobia about them??haha) as a kneejerk reaction to opec raising oil prices from us$12 a barrel to us$19 a barrel muldoon/birch and co banned weekend sales of petrol and introduced carless days(talk about a nannystate haha). core think big projects included the mobil synthetic petrol plant at motunui, expansion of marsden point oil refinery and the methanol plant at waitara.. declining oil prices made rthe process of making synthetic petrol uneconomic and it was abandoned in nz. the clyde river was dammed to make the clyde dam to generate electricity fcor smelting aluminium but a proposed smelter at aramoana on the otago harbour was canned on environmental grounds. other projects include the kapuni ammonia/urea plant (is this to blame for the high level of nitrogen in our rivers and lakes??),expansion of glenbrook nz steel plant, electrification of the maintrunk railway line between hamilton and palmerston north and expansion of tiwai point aluminium smelter at bluff. (shame they never thought of wind turbine power but thank god they were stopped before they built some nuclear power plants-good old david lange,a self employed lawyer no less). commentators believe the think big sheme delivered net benefits to the private sector only, including foreign multinationals who also were able to establish themselves in the highly regulated nz market. the basic justification for the projects though,a permanently higher oil price, did not happen and oil prices in fact dropped. tiwai point largely continues to generate profits for its largely overseas owners. even much of the national party subsequently came to perceive that think big sank nz into huge debt without any significant return and ultimately led to the demise of muldoon and his legacy. recent economic thought is that think big had no effect on the govts balance of payments at all. im a great believer that if you fail to plan ,you plan to fail, but also in another saying that you have to cut the cloth to fit .muldoon, birch and co gambled nzs future on the oil price staying high and lost, with your full support.it was the blind leading the blind and muldoon had the cheek(no pun intended) to criticise farming industry leaders at the time who dared to disagree with some of his policies as "gumboot directors heh heh heh" lol. lets not let history repeat please but a "little" bit of govt investment in nzs racing industry wouldnt go amiss surely?
  6. haha,,,you have it wrong mate.nz was broke after the nats and muldoon/birch and co and think big, hydro power, carless days, wage freezes, nanny state etc and along came labour with lange and co who slashed the top income tax rate from 66% to 39% and brought in gst to broaden the tax base and all was good until the nats and bolger/shipley/english/doug graham and co and their health and education reforms and treaty settlements took us back to square one again.labour, clark and cullen, peters sorted nz out again for 9 years with surpluses, foreshore and seabed and a deadline on treaty settlements and tax breaks for the racing industry and along came the nats and key/english who spent all the surpluses on tax cuts and more treaty settlements and ignoring the racing industry and here we are back in strife again.lol
  7. isnt that what they used to call van diemans land???lol
  8. none at all,i just wish he would remember where he came from and do more for struggling people and industries (like racing) and less for his mates and the already wealthy(like sky city casino).unlike kennedy, carter, clinton and obama theres nothing on his cv for helping the less fortunate, downtrodden and down on their luck.and dont forget pommyboy,it was your fellow countrymen in london that he was paid big wages and bonuses to sack as the hatchetman for the company he worked for.it wasnt his own business.nothings changed really.the only way we can get him to help racing is to make it worth his while.someone like te akau need to give him a share in a good horse so he can change the rules thereby maxamising his returns, and the rest of us racing peoples at the same time.lol
  9. racing ministers like john carter and nathan guy ,pms like key and finance ministers like bill english, obviously.bring back the likes of helen clarke, michael cullen and winston peters, and fast or i will have to stop breeding and racing thoroughbreds.lol
  10. dont you dear come back to nz.you made your bed,now lie in it.as your mate muldoon said, people like you raised the iq of both countries.hahaha.
  11. omg.thats nathan guys other hat.didnt he say that too about the meat sitting on the dock in china for a month last year with incorrect mpi export documentation and hed been in china at the time and done nothing about it????and fonterras botulism "scare"????????
  12. hahaha is that the best you can do tommy?? i notice you are incapable of countering my argument with any facts, yet again.therefore,to help you,i shal come down to your level. i think the small weight is more likely to be between your legs,nowit.lol.
  13. do some research foxy on clinton and obama and you may be surprised where they come from, and even jimmy carters family lived in public housing for a stint after his father died hahaha didnt hurt both clinton and obama who did just that.clinton also set up a job training scheme and a tenants rights organisation and obama left high school for college and made his first political speech there when he called on them to participate in the disinvestment from south africa in response to its policy on apartheid before graduating with a bachelor of arts in political science and international relations.both then did law and lectured in it with obama also being a community organiser.you need to do your homework mate.oh yea,and we have a prime minister who cant remember what his policy was on south africa,,,yeah right,,,AND has never run his own business.he ammassed his millions with a high paying job in london as the "smiling assassin" as his colleagues dubbed him at merrill lynch after he was employed as the hatchet man and sacked dozens if not hundreds of workmates afetr the 98 russian financial crisis, all the time with that smile on his face.lol.after a b.comm in accounting he worked as an auditor, then project manager at lane walker rudkin in chch, then foreign exchange for elders finance in wgtn, then auckland with bankers trust for 7 years before singapore with merrill lynch enroute to london.anyone else find themselves yawning????hahaha.no wonder the country is stuffed and racing.we have a grey man/bean counter in charge.lol
  14. exactly!! i bought my first house at the age of 24 but how the hell is the average nzer of tomorrow going to do that before the age of 50?? what we need in parliament is intelligent people with a conscience who cannot be brought and are not just interested in feathering their own nests, and are interested in racing.hahaha. was it jay leno or david letterman that was rolling round laughing a few years ago about how the people who live in little old new zeeeeland had voted in a government whos leader was a multi millionaire????one thing the yanks dont lack is perception and a willingness to call a spade a spade.a pig with lipstick on is still a pig.lolol.
  15. and of course trumpet, even you would have to admit that keys tax cuts were announced after labours finance minister michael cullen anounced what key called "bubblegum taxcuts" warning that was all we could afford if we wanted to keep our surpluses!!but no "power at any cost key" said cullen didnt know what he was doing, bribed the voters with larger taxcuts(especially for higher earners like he and his mates) and now here we are with years of no surpluses since.durrrrr.wtf??so,just explain that COMPETANCY! one again please?
  16. hahaha how else was she going to raise some cash to get the country going again after nationals typical asleep at the wheel, let the market rule management.our economy was in a coma after too many years of muldoon, birch, bolger, shipley and english policies,or lack of them.remember english leading national to only 21% of the vote???there was a reason for that, and now hes back in charge of the finances!!!!oh please,,,and you say labour voters are silly.the double dipper (housing allowances in wgtn for he and his gp wife and gaggle of kids) from dipton.hahaha.poor fellow didnt understand the rules.yeah right.theres one for a tui billboard, but only for those who want to remember.and speaking of competancy, just exactly how did mr key make his millions again??what sort of business was it again??
  17. hahaha sorry booffo, but i am a self employed dairy farmer and i know which nz govt is better for nz racing, nzs future and nz farmers in general,if only they, and bigots such as yourself, could see the bigger picture and not just their own bank balance.i dont want to hear sad tales of ozzy farmers, after all they could have moved to nz,the genuine lucky country.
  18. the racing industry cares you bigot.key is allowing our opposition to expand in return for what?a convention centre,at our expense.are you a double agent,or just plain stupid??i take no satisfaction in successfully predicting your personal attack but immense pleasure in seeing you hoisted on your own grammatical petard.hahaha.by the way,a gram or gramme is according to the concise oxford a "small weight".lol.very apt methinks.
  19. worldwide economic boom?- you must be joking.america and europe has been in the crap for 15 years you fool.ill conceived handouts???-labour lost power after falling out with the tangata whenua when telling them enough was enough remember.cant you remember titewhai and co packing a sad over the foreshore and sea bed legislation and the proposed deadline and end to treaty claims???and then along came their knight in shining armour johnnnny key who flip flopped, jumped into bed with them and brought in tax cuts both of which spent labours/cullens surpluses before lunchtime.the racing industry funding winston/labour earmarked has gone elsewhere sorry, but dont you worry about it chelsea(in england isnt it?).go a bit further back in history and you will see if you open both eyes that labour slashed the top tax rate from muldoons nats 66% to 39% when they introduced gst which is precisely where that person on average wages who breeds that you speak of pays his tax.unlike the above average earner with no kids to rear any more who can save most of his income,or spends it overseas(maybe in hawaii)the breeder spends all his wages and pays his taxes indirectly as do those of with cash incomes such as bookies, prostitutes, drug dealers, trademe dealers etc etc.what a shame national hasnt come up with any brilliant ideas such as labours gst to help our economy.they have though made illegal spying legal and of course helped racings opposition the pokies and skycity prosper at racings expense in return for a convention centre.hahahaha
  20. see.labour to the rescue of the racing industry wanting to clamp down on pokies, and fools like tom too dumb to see it.whats that old saying "none so blind as those who will not see"???????key wants to make it worse for racing by promoting sky city and its pokies and tom and his mates think he is great.unbelievable,,,,,but just wait for the personal attacks as they try and justify their bigoted, old school.old fashioned, follow the leader, blind leading the blind theories.sad really,,,,and we wonder why racing is going down the tubes.if john key ,bill english and nathan guy are the answer then it was a bloody stupid question.
  21. hahahaha you have a poor memory.this is precisely what we had prior to the current scheming rabble(key, banks, dunne, turia, sharples) and the last time we had a surplus and a decent racing minister.the world never ended as you lots hysterical shrieking would suggest, and they would still be the government and nz in a better place financially if key hadnt lied and said we could afford labours surpluses to be spent on tax cuts to buy his way in to power.
  22. i wouldnt mind owning any of them.which ones are "crap" horses?
  23. i bought a new cellphone last week so i could "watch and bet" from the cowshed so you can imagine my disgust when i went to have a bet and watch the wellington cup on saturday only to receive the message "this facility is not yet available on android devices".We used to be able to watch the races in the cowshed of course with rabbit ears on a tv but that of course has gone by the board as well.bugger.
  24. i thought shamus award was a maiden when he won the cox plate?if so how could cauthen have got 2nd to him?
