  2. RIP The Inevitable. Another tragic outcome for a 9 year old. He had amassed over $2 million prize money and won his last two starts in Dec 2024. But NO, that wasnt enough for the greedy connections. Just one more time to the well. The Inevitable broke down and was euthanised today. Bloody Sad.
  3. Pleased to see that she isn’t starting in this one.

  8. In a late move, smart three-year-old colt Public Attention's focus has been diverted from Sydney to New Zealand's inaugural slot race for three-year-olds, The Kiwi, to be run on March 8. Public Attention will take Ozzie Kheir's slot in the NZ$4.5 million 1500-metre feature at Ellerslie.
  9. What a spectacular Hypocrite. Shut your mouth.

  12. The winner is a tough horse, the best on dirt. RW so so brave in defeat. Personally I don’t want to see him on dirt again. He’s the best in the world on turf, not dirt. The brain dead cowards around, not on here though, are all unloading on James. WTF wants to be a jockey.

  15. I really hope her grandson, Storm Boy, does well in the the Northern Hemisphere.
  16. They all looked good. But Mufi and Seachange looked great.
  17. Jockeys don’t get paid enough. And there is still idiots out there criticising their every ride. They aren’t perfect, and in every race they can be severely injured in the blink of an eye due to many scenarios. They are Brave and Talented Athletes.
  18. Racenet. AdamDobbin Champion Hong Kong rider Zac Purton will be sidelined for six weeks after suffering a broken big toe in a fall at Sha Tin on Sunday. It means Purton misses the prized ride on superstar sprinter Ka Ying Rising in the Group 1 Queen's Silver Jubilee on February 23. "I'm really disappointed but it could have been much worse," Purton said. "I'll start rehab after surgery today and see if I can speed things up." As well as missing the ride on Ka Ying Rising in a fortnight, Purton will also forgo the mount on Galaxy Patch in Group 1 Gold Cup (2000m) and Packing Angel in the Classic Cup (1800m). Trainer David Hayes has put Karis Teetan on standby to replace Purton on Ka Ying Rising.
  19. Thoroughbred News. Rob Burnet Four jockey's, Vincent Ho, Zac Purton, Angus Chung and Keith Yeung, spent the night in the Prince of Wales Hospital after two separate race falls at the meeting at Sha Tin on Sunday. In Race 6, the Class Four TVB Po Leung Kuk Gala Spectacular Handicap (1200m), Vincent Ho fell from Oldtown at the 50m mark. The scmp.com reports that Ho may have suffered fractures in his neck and shoulder region. “He is awake, he is coherent and he has full limb movement. It doesn’t appear that he has sustained serious injuries but there are some potential injuries that are being monitored,” said Andrew Harding, Hong Kong Jockey Club’s (HKJC) executive director of racing. “The medical team will make an assessment over the next few days about what will be involved in his recovery, but it is certainly likely that he will require at least several weeks’ rest.” The injuries for Ho come after he fractured a T5 vertebra in an off-season incident in Japan in 2023, and more recently was out of riding after a pair of home track falls. HKJC stewards' opened an inquiry into the reason for Oldtown falling. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Then in Race 9, the Class Three TVB Midlife, Sing & Shine 3 Handicap (1800m), Zac Purton, Angus Chung and Keith Yeung were thrown to the turf after Legend's St Paul's broke down causing Silvery Breeze with Purton and Lupo Solitario with Yeung to fall. Yeung suffered bruising to his upper thigh, while Purton has a dislocated toe on his left foot and Chung bruising to his face and upper body. Legend St Paul’s was humanely euthanised, while the other gallopers escaped serious injury. “[Chung] was taken to hospital for further imaging and I don’t have the results of that yet, but he seems in good order,” Harding said reported scmp.com on Sunday night. “There is nothing to indicate hen is seriously injured.” Purton was undergoing further scans on potential ankle and knee injuries. The stewards' report stated - " LEGEND ST PAUL’S was then shifted to the outside of CALIFORNIATOTALITY to obtain clear running. Near the 150 Metres went amiss in its left front leg and fell, dislodging its rider Y L Chung. In this incident, SILVERY BREEZE was contacted heavily by LEGEND ST PAUL’S, resulting in SILVERY BREEZE falling and dislodging its rider Z Purton. LUPO SOLITARIO, which was following, then fell, dislodging its rider M L Yeung when it was also contacted heavily by SILVERY BREEZE." An inquiry into the incident was adjourned to a dated to be fixed to allow the Stewards to interview the riders.
  20. It’s official. Jenni is back in work. How bloody sad.
  21. Just another sad sight of running a horse, who was once a very good horse, into the ground.
