1. All this stuff about drivers colluding and yet the only person caught CHEATING was a JOCKEY.
2. Stop talking sense Bridie. You'll be blowing a few minds amongst our leadership. Cantab Matt and others saying Saturday nights were crap. How many years ago was that? Why not try it again and see how it goes? I agree with Brodie that Thursday nights surely wouldn't be better than Saturday nights. I suspect you are correct too that the staff probably wouldn't like to work on Saturday nights. Look how many staff they have at NZ Metro Club. Just like HRNZ. I don't know what work they have to keep so many people busy during the day. They'd have to have meetings every day to fill in their days. I actually think Saturday afternoons is the way to go to get trotting back going forward but our leaders are push overs and do what they're told so things won't turn around any time soon with the same old leaders who have only seen the industry take a dive since they've been there.
3. Prodigious you post as if what you say is 100% truth and fact. The stuff you post here is really all quite airy fairy. Not backed up with any substance is what I think I'm trying to say.
4. Well I'm honoured to finally meet someone who always wins on the punt. Congrats Brodie.
5. So that's why they're having trotters only meetings at Maryborough. Plus more trots at Melton. I wonder what our leaders would say if given the chance to copy the Victorian format for similar profit but only on straight out trotters? Would they flatly turn it down if they didn't want pacing races? Oh yeah they'd say we can't put on full race days with trotters only. I bet we could through the summer months. Actually I might be slow to pick up on this but our leaders surely would know about this set up between Victoria and Europe. Have they gotten off their backsides and found out if we can do this too?
6.
Gee you guys are harsh. Telfer has only driven it twice in it's last 10 starts. It's last 2 starts in fact. And only when it's form dropped off like many part time owner drivers do. That's usually when they decide to have a drive.

7. Brodie everything you've said here is exactly how I see the game and it's one big put off for the average owner or trainer. It's all about the top end and to hell with the majority which is shrinking every year.
8. If the biggest problem in the industry is money or lack of it, what will giving one club power over fellow clubs do except the obvious where they will no doubt rail road the other clubs and their people out of the game. Why do they never entertain the thought of looking after the majority better instead of a handful at the top?
9. I get sick of people saying that trainers and drivers run for second like Prodigiuos has here. He's in la la land. It's an out dated cliché. Yeah back in the day maybe but second prize money isn't worth enough to pay the bills let alone make profit today except for Auckland possibly with their higher stakes than all other clubs in NZ. I'm open to the Money won handicapping idea from Prodigious all the same. Not his worst idea ever.
10. Fit me or the horse? I've only got two legs like you guys.
11.
What did Takter feed Pinkman between the heats and final? Yannick Gingras drove Pinkman and Mission Brief to win both heats and one can see why he chose Mission Brief over Pinkman for the final. She cruised her heat by 5 lengths and Pinkman just got up by a neck after leading and trailing. What annoys me is Takter says after the final that he knew Gingras chose the wrong horse as he thought Mission Brief looked rocky at the finish winning her heat. What the Hell? She was cruising at the finish and won by 5 lengths.

12. That's alright. My granddad won a trot at Kaikoura once and he was given a pair of hopples as a trophy. He gave the hopples to me.
13. Sorry Prodigious. I disagree that we are years behind with our training methods. Aren't they years ahead of us in doping?
14. Don't forget EPO. It increases oxygen in the blood. NZ Racing Board has stated that they think trainers are using it but they can't test for it. But they can test athletes so why not horses?
15. Gee that's a bit tough. Plenty of our trainers were doing all those things years and years ago. What about the days when most worked horses along road side grass verges? Some still do this. I have actually had horses I've trained on the jogger machine then gone away from it and had to go back to the jogger machine. Usually with Sundons. They are more relaxed jogging on the jogger from my experience. And is there something wrong with being turned out in a paddock all day and some live in nice big paddocks here full time. How many horses over seas get to be in a paddock like here? Barefoot? yes this is interesting but first you need tracks to race your horse on barefooted.
