So thats money well spent is it?? Just because other channels do the same doesnt make it a good option. Heres an idea - let the pictures tell the story inbetween the analysts speaking. Why pay someone 100K plus just to provide white noise?? Spend that money on a jockey cam or something...far better use of the cash. Get smarter and not be sheep Trackside.

Lol the bloke (and I use that term loosely - would be weird calling him a guy) is a fake and a myth. How many months has he been in the job? I still havnt heard a sentence of real racing knowledge from him. Now we have to endure him strutting around in his plus 4's. Jayne props up the whole channel. And yes great racing at Wanganui. Had the pleasure of watching it in the Bond St bar (formerly Lovelocks) on Saturday. Was refreshing to sit around real old style punters who enjoy an ale and listen to their "knowledge". Colourful language and sage advice for jockeys lol. I even heard why a prominent jockey is currently off the scene. Trackside could employ a couple of them to improve their product!

Whats going on there? Answer that. Kana had approximately 20 strides where she couldnt sort out its preference to hang. A better rider would have. Imagine Sam Spratt aboard?? A long way to go for that treatment.

An outstanding journalist and presenter. His work with Brough Scott, John Francome, Derek Thompson, and John McKririck was THE best you will ever see (Id go so far to say in all sport too). His knowledge, wit, and interview style were amazing. You can Youtube some of his more recent interviews - theyre usually in a bar - but that just adds to his aura. Oh to have someone in the NZ media with 1/100 of his ability. Rest In Peace Alastair.

You're only defence is that he's new. He isn't. He's had 5 years to get background knowledge and 14 years of broadcasting experience. Id say he's had an advantage over the "others". In fact, I reckon Sween's is doing pretty well considering Guy's red carpet to the role! I think you might be looking like the dick the way you refuse to see the contradictions here.

Apart from employing the bloke how can you blame management for his lack of indepth racing knowledge??!! We are not crucifying the guy (nothing personal, we aren't bagging his presentation skills - those are pretty smooth). We are wanting more indepth knowledge. How do you get that? Probably be in and around the game for longer than 5 years and/or think of what the point of difference is for the punter to hear. We don't want the form guide read to us! We don't want what we saw repeated in words. We want something meaningful or relative going forward. Do that or be quiet. You said wait until he has been given time....we found out the award he received (that you were fully hyped about) should have in fact helped with what you wanted. It hasn't. Where are we giving the bloke a kick in the guts. Stop being so sensitive about the facts. Read my posts again as well and you will see positive views that go against your opinion of me being a "bagger" You really need a more objective look at things Scoobs.
