  1. Should have been smarter with their money. Investment options are numerous. They should never have had to sell off the one thing that made that course so very very special. Now its just another right handed track........except it injures horses.
  2. Crazy how tree can receive heritage protection but an iconic piece of land to the global racing industry gets smashed into oblivion to build some friggn houses. I tell ya I bet theres a lot of regret and apprehension at the moment.
  3. I dont know why punters dont sit back and wait for the BGP bets to be announced. If you like it follow them through your own account. If the bet is one you would have dreaded being part of by being locked in with your donation then perhaps you dodged a bullet. You may get slightly lower odds than what they do but hey at least you have control over your money.
  4. I know of some very capable and/or prominent female trainers who would have shown interest but were not chosen. They aren't happy.
  5. Id confidently say that Latta has achieved more in racing than half of those trainers. They're all very good at their job, but Latta's record speaks for itself. Name a big race she hasnt won.
  6. So someone like Lisa Latta doesnt fit the criteria of "trainers will be chosen on their ability to deliver a world-class ownership experience, as well as their success as a trainer".
  7. Any specific reason as to why Entain allocated their horses for the new ownership incentive to entirely male trainers here in NZ? Not one female trainer was issued a horse. At a time where every decision is scoped for its inclusiveness I'd say there are a lot of disgruntled, confused, and angry members of the industry. https://www.racingnews.co.nz/tab-racing-club-a-new-player-in-racehorse-ownership/
  8. No need. I didnt realise it was a Wednesday decision - I was just going by what the panel of Trackside "experts" were saying while the TV was on in the background on Friday. I cant work out why people on here thought I was demanding all legs to be paid out/deemed winners within a Legarto multi when all I was pinpointing was the early payout on Legarto. As a side issue I wonder what percent of money received from the early payout went back on Legarto to actually win the race. Impossible to track through the betting figures but Id say the TAB would have come out on top even more from Legarto's defeat when confident punters reinvested their early payout return.
  9. Great post and a bang on reply.
  10. As usual you understood incorrectly.
  11. Oh my God its back again. Only if all the other legs have been a winner as well. If anyone took the Orchestral to win/Legarto to win multi that we are talking about should they not receive their winnings considering the TAB paid out on Legarto to win on the Friday? Is that not a closed case as you'd put it?
  12. Oh my God. That'll do me. Piss off.
  13. Injury and death are "ridiculous ideas" are they? Try telling that to some of our jockeys who have been victims in the past because of slippery tracks. Ring Judy Lawson and ask her how life has been the last 17 years.
  14. How the hell can I discuss an issue with someone who denies what they say!??!! Thats not a mistake - thats blatant stupidity. For Gods sake next you'll be saying the track was unsafe and that I think that a poor track is OK to run on but "she'll be right" in the future!!!! Go back to your ARC board meeting.
  15. Because the TAB paid out on Legarto on the Friday. If Legarto is a "leg" of a multi shouldnt it be deemed a winner too? Irrelevant which order of "legs" it is.
  16. Really? Is that the best you've got? They paid out on fixed odds bets on the Friday. Vividly advertised. It should mean they pay out on the Legarto "leg" that anyone had in their multis. Tell me where I said all "legs" were to be paid out as well. Boy you're having a cracker of a day with your mate Pete aren't you.
  17. So they pay out on win bets but it still has to win for the multi takers. Is this an Ellerslie Double Standards Society idea of yours and Petes?
  18. When was their multi placed? I thought the TAB had "paid out" for Legarto on the Friday. Does that not apply to multis?
  19. Interestingly whilst the majority of winners came from horses handy to the pace not one front runner actually prevailed. I think the bottom line here is that the track needs more time. They took a bit of a punt opening early for the Karaka meeting and it didn't quite come off because of the rain. I honestly believe the naysayers will eat their words when it settles down. But thats Ok. Sorry for being pathetically correct.
  20. Id say your statement that we "eat our words" is an indirect "praise" (or at least support) of the tracks safety. We say it was unsafe but eating our words means we have got this wrong. Horses slipped mate! Two abandoned meetings the past week because of the same conditions. The future has zip to do with Saturday. Its like saying Legarto will win in the future....it didnt on Saturday. Two things totally lacking connection. Moaning? When someone gets injured or dies because of the major player decisions like Karaka Millions day then yeah I'll definitely have a moan. Meanwhile you'll console the victims with "give the track time and everything will turn out OK". Wake up.
