  1. On watching the replay this morning I think he didn’t run a bad race short stuff. He got a bit lost half way down the straight but when Mark Zahra punched him through that gap late he hit the line well. I’d like to see him over 1400m round a bend next time as he’s clearly still learning the caper. I wouldn’t write him off on that run.
  2. Clearly not Brent. You’re an observer of life where as I’m a participant. I find participating in life a lot more fun so I’ll keep doing just that while I’ll leave you to observe, taking pot shots from the sidelines. Clearly that’s what you do best.
  3. Get back in your box Ernie. Peter Moody is still distraught since you tipped Nurse Kitchen which has never and will never win another race.
  4. Thanks for confirming you have no balls Brent. Weak and pathetic. Keep potting from the sidelines while I live the dream.
  5. At least I have $$ of my own to bet short stuff. You can’t bet on horses with Headquarters vouchers or sponsored Moet.
  6. You wouldn’t have the balls to front up before a race Brent. Keep hiding behind that pseudonym. There’s certainly no skill or fun in potting someone after the race but whatever floats your boat.
  7. Just got home after a great afternoon sinking a few schofferhofers in Southbank with some good people. Saw he ran second. Haven’t seen the race yet so I’m guessing he got back and ran on late? I’ll live to fight another day. Spring racing is here people!
  8. You’re a crack up short stuff. The last horse you spruiked for the Winter Cup didn’t even make the field. Elvstroem won his maiden at Swan Hill. What’s wrong with winning at Bendigo or Sandown? Shamus Award was a maiden who ended up winning the Cox Plate. At 2:40pm today this boy would’ve won his third consecutive race slaughtering a quality field. I’ll tell you one thing. He won’t be paying $101 to win the Plate after today. Out to $1.70 Fixed now after shortening in to $1.65 earlier.
  9. Cheers Baz. It’s been raining all night over here with more forecast today so the track won’t be as firm as it was yesterday. Ive got no concerns with the firmer surface though. I actually think he’ll be better on top of the ground.
  10. They are talking Emrites with him Ernie but he has been nominated for the Cox Plate. After he slaughters this field today he could be one step closer to meeting Winx in October. If Shamus Award can get in why not him?
  11. Cheers Red Rum. It’s been raining all night over here. Dancing Tycoon scratched. A few others have come out too. First time down the straight is always a bit of an unknown but the way this boy races I’m not concerned and David Hayes is supremely confident. Stable has been red hot lately (they trained the first 5 winners at Geelong yesterday) and I have no doubt this is the best horse in their stable.
  12. Good luck trying to find a bookie on course paying greater than even money for this boy tomorrow. TAB briefly pushed him out to $2.10 before firming him back into $2. With the expected rain over the next 24 hours he should start well into the red. Enjoy
  13. Grand National Steeple #3 Tai Ho Aurie’s Star Handicap #10 Brave Song
  14. He’ll bolt in! I’m just disappointed I’ve got a birthday lunch to go to in the city otherwise I’d be there!!
  15. Gold Mag steps out at Headquarters on Saturday and has draw the right side of the straight six. Can’t wait to see what he does to this field on his way to meet the mighty mare in the Plate.
  16. Didn’t bet today. Too busy with the dog at work.
  17. Rockhampton Race 6 #3 Now Ask Me Opens up this morning as a $1.28 Fixed Odds favourite and justifiably so as the best performed runner in the field. Blows out to $2.80 on the tote and bolts in by 4 lengths!!
  18. Absolutely Red Rum. That Avilius won particularly well first up on the weekend. I see he was runner up to Cracksman in a race over there which is very strong form indeed! The best horse in Williams stable “Order of the Garter” has been kept very quiet so far. You can’t find a market for him but by all accounts they reckon this horse has lengths on Rekindling so will be interesting to see him when he finally hits the track over here.
  19. I’ve always liked the shorties Red Rum but they don’t always come through. I had 5K on Pierro to win the Caulfield Guineas when he got rolled by All Too Hard with Nash riding him 4 wide in an 8 horse field. I also lost 5K on So You Think when he got pipped on the post by Rewilding in the Prince of Wales stakes after a perfectly judged ride by Dettori. This horse I backed yesterday also got pipped on the post but I’ve backed another couple of other shorties today to nearly square the ledger (God bless Peter Snowden and Mark Purdon).
  20. Sandown - Race 7 #6 Miss Pandanus She’s unbeaten 2 from 2 and possesses a lethal turn of foot. At her last start she came from behind to beat Naantali and Naantali has subsequently won at Flemington and yesterday at the Valley since. Mick Kent has scratched her from her last couple of races looking for the ideal assignment to keep her unbeaten record intact and this looks to be it. She’ll drop out to probably last and have the luxury of that long long Sandown straight to wind up and assert her superiority once again. Enjoy
  21. These others were a bit more profitable though.
  22. I was pretty lucky actually short stuff. Had a last minute change of heart after seeing him trot up to the start in his prelim. He looked a bit fat so took the safer option. I could find easier ways of making $90 though.
  23. Moonee Valley - Race 8 #1 Pacodali Damian Lane riding - tick 5 starts over the distance for 3 wins and a second - tick 1 start on the track over the distance for 1 win over the Melbourne Cup winner Almandin - tick Only slight query is the 5 week gap between runs (he had an abscess missing his last run) but Weiry would’ve ploughed a truck load of beach work in to him so I’m not too concerned. Should be able to ping off the cambre with the big 60 turning for home and be too good. Enjoy
