Speaking of long time maiden runners.. I heard ARod on The Weigh In mention Chicago Jack was a 15 start maiden runner beating home Velocious on Saturday. I thought to myself "gee this one went alright, it might break the rule being discussed by the RCers in the next couple starts".
Turns out hes not a maiden at all. I guess Aiden was pulling his data from the TAB website which shows it never winning a race despite also stating in the form comment "Has won clockwise". He won in a dead heat at Ruakaka last year but im guessing the TAB site still has troubles tracking dead heat wins.
To be honest in the studio , it wouldn't be easy to keep talking in between races etc . Tbh I don't watch the racing much but they do their best . Nicole Simms in another one who over the course of time is gathering good knowledge . People rubbish the whale but I find him to be very knowledgeable and like him as a presenter

So you would rather have the mumbling the ums and arghs, the moronic repetitive questions day after day, the aftermaths and the shortened new race and horse names,KM and EVs doing the presenting...and then you add in the wrong names of time honored races the lack of interest or knowledge is a sign that racing is just a job not a passion...give me a break..if thats what you accept as presenters then racing is Donald Ducked.
Yes there can be many reasons for taking a while to win that first race.... as long as it's not lack of ability...then it's worth continuing....he was a slow maturer.
So if your sitting on what you perceive to be the best stayer in the race you shouldn't go early just sit there come out late and get out sprinted . Going early took all the favourites out of the race as you can see by the margin back to fourth. I would say if he sat in he still wouldn't have got past the house horse so is that the real reason behind this thread , everyone clearly punted the house horse going by the time it ran last start and the huge plunge on it. Personally I did ok on the punters but didn't spend alot.

In the trail waiting for the passing lane behind a horse that ran 3:15 last start and who was $1.04 to get me to the passing lane given his previous form.
Shes had some real shockers over the last few years and with GN week approaching you know that her main supporter will have the horses in prime condition, but you'll need a premium to compensate for her.
At least I got some excitement for about 45 seconds but yes I can be a fool sometimes. I was going to say I learn by my mistakes but no I don't, I am liable to do the same thing next week by backing a 21 start maiden. 🤣😂
