They will now that Godolphin are retracting somewhat , there's always room for big players in Australia simply because of how big it is , no one entity will dominate everything .
Plus they won't always get it right , just like the rest of us .
Well said Ned. Dowding and her Board ( after Hoggard ) and their grandiose village schemes have a lot to answer for.
So much for them “guaranteeing the future of the club into the future…”
And when I think of all the crap we had to put up with in the late 90’s, early 2000’s, when the club had NO DEBT, it makes me very angry.
The guy loves the industry good on him for being able to enjoy his fortune...its no different than Godolphin...are the good for the industry...of course they are.
It won’t, I go most meetings and would hate that it goes but it is inevitable. Yes it started with the apartment fiasco but every decision they have made since has only dug the hole deeper. When you look at the people involved it should be no surprise at all. The lunatics running the asylum are not only incompetent and a complete waste of time but also lack the honesty and integrity required of their positions, there has been plenty of them over the past decade or so but I think McKinnon is the perfect example of them all when it comes to self interest, dishonesty and incompetence. It’s time to get real and face reality and ditch the tinted sunglasses because every week that passes the debt gets bigger and there are a lot of people whose livelihood are at risk.
Our industry went along just fine in the old days under Internal Affairs whose only real responsibility was to make sure that the TAB was operating according to the rules laid down by parliament.
Then some bright spark thought that we needed a Minister of Racing and haven’t there been some beauts? I can’t remember the names of most of them only their inaptitude. Probably the least effective was that bloke from around Otaki.
It definitely won’t be or should not be run at Trentham as the track will be too wet.
It doesn’t dry out until mid October.
Many “experts” have tried to race a Trentham in September always resulting in a disaster.
Some of you old enough will remember when Masterton raced the Lowland there for a number of years only for it to lose its momentum and end up getting shunted from pillar to post.
Having said that where is sits now over 2000m seems to be perfect.
No doubt plenty here, but I don't have the time or energy to scroll through results.
But two very high class runners in the UK, the 2000 Guineas winner Notable Speech - who had never raced on grass before the Guineas, and the champion mare Enable, getting in a prep run - and winning - before the Arc.
And in early September .
Not sure Trentham will have recovered from it's Autumn/winter racing schedule , may well be run at Otaki if they want to keep it in the CD or it will also be taken north .
My money is north .
Beat me to it , society has been wrecked by people in suits or with degrees that think they know all the answers .
Somewhere along the line "common dog" went out the window .
Now it's a perpetual round about of these people validating each other .
Thank F#@K I'm closer to the end than the start .
