ZOUSTYLE GOING OUT FOR A SPELL

Unbeaten gelding Zoustyle will take no further part in the Queensland winter carnival after contracting a low-grade virus.

The Tony Gollan three-year-old was scheduled to run in Saturday’s Listed Daybreak Lover Plate (1200m) but, after the problem surfaced on Tuesday morning, Gollan decided to pull up stumps and concentrate on getting him ready for spring features.

“It is nothing serious but it is just a low-grade virus which meant we couldn’t prepare him properly for Saturday,” Gollan said.

“With so many horses coming from all over the place there are plenty of virus-type illnesses around. He can have three weeks off and then we can get him back for a tilt at the spring carnivals.”
