WILLIAMS BRINGS UP 70 FOR SEASON

Craig Williams has extended his lead in the Melbourne jockeys premiership after riding three winners at Mornington yesterday.

Williams guided Fight and Infallybelle to their respective maiden victories before registering his second city win inside three months aboard the Doug Harrison-trained Search Squad.

The treble saw Williams register his 70th winner of the season in Melbourne, placing him 15 victories clear of his nearest premiership rival Damien Oliver. Between them, Williams (seven) and Oliver (10) have won the Melbourne title a remarkable 17 times.
