Westbury Stud has launched a pair of initiatives aimed at attracting and retaining talented industry participants.
The first includes the promotion of an existing employee, or Gamechangers as they will be known, who will embark on a 12 month programme that sees them rotate within each department of the stud (including management) before they are seconded to a sister stud in the northern hemisphere.
The programme will also aim to become NZQA accredited, meaning the Westbury Gamechangers complete the 12 month programme with an industry qualification.
The second programme is the Westbury Cadets, targeting school leavers or those new to the industry with a willingness to learn. They will spend six months experiencing a variety of roles.
