Promising stayer Verry Flash, the brother of star filly Verry Elleegant, returned to winning form with a victory in a Rating 82 race over 1560m at Rotorua on Saturday.
“He is a really good horse, he’s no Verry Elleegant, but he’s a really good horse,” trainer Nick Bishara said.
“He is a big-striding horse who wobbled around the bend but when he flattened out he let down good.
“It will probably be a very light winter for him now and try for a busy spring. I think he will get two miles although it may have been a year too soon for the Auckland Cup this year.”
Very Flash, who has now won five of his 18 starts, finished eighth of 16 runners in the Group 1 Auckland Cup (3200m) at Ellerslie on March 9.
