TIME WILL HELP AZAMOUR SAYS TRAINER

New Plymouth owner-trainer Warren Bolton predicted a big future for Jazamour after the mare resumed from a lengthy spell with a decisive win in a 1600m maiden race at New Plymouth today.

Bolton, who has never raced a big team but has always had a good horse around him, said he thinks the Azamour four-year-old could develop into a “Cups horse” in another 12 months.

Jazamour was having her first start since finishing fourth over 1650m maiden race at Waverley in October last year and had six starts at that stage for a second and two thirds.

“Unfortunately we’ve had a lot of trouble with her because she’s got very flat feet and jars up,” Bolton said.

“She jarred up through the shoulder in her last start and so we gave her plenty of time to get over it.”

Bolton was worried how the mare would cope with the good-3 surface at New Plymouth today and said she would be a lot better on a rain affected track.
