Mark down Pinched as a filly who should go right through the grades in time.
The Pins three-year-old scored an impressive 2-1/2 length debut win over 1300m at Hastings at the end of last month and followed that up with another dominant 1-3/4 length victory in a Rating 65 race over 1300m at New Plymouth today.
Pinched began brilliantly from the 1300m barrier and rider Craig Grylls was able to dictate terms in front until the home straight where he kicked the filly clear.
Pinched has a daisy-cutter action, which was suited to the good-3 track conditions, and she quickened in the final stages to win by 1-3/4 lengths.
The filly is prepared by Cambridge trainer Ross McCarroll, who also has a racing share in the filly. She is out of the Desert Fox mare Stole who McCarroll trained to record three wins and six minor placings.
