ORDER AGAIN CHASING STRADBROKE START

Ex-pat New Zealand trainer Brian Smith now faces an anxious wait to see whether Order Again can gain a start in the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) on June 8 after the gelding showcased his credentials for the Group 1 with victory Saturday’s Group 3 Lord Mayor’s Cup (1600m) at Eagle Farm.

The five-year-old beat perennial placegetter Tom Melbourne by three-quarters of a length with another length back to Le Juge in third.

“I was hoping this race would make him exempt for the Stradbroke but unfortunately it’s not so I’m just hoping he can sneak into it,” said Smith.

“He reminds me a lot of that grey horse Linton who flashed home along the fence to win the Stradbroke a few years ago.”
