OLIVER CHASING FIRST QUEENSLAND OAKS WIN

OLIVER CHASING FIRST QUEENSLAND OAKS WIN

Damien Oliver will be granted the chance to snare one of the few domestic Group 1s that still eludes him when he gets the leg up on Princess Jenni in Saturday’s Queensland Oaks (2200m) at Doomben.

The David Brideoake-trained filly arrived by plane from Melbourne on Wednesday  and will be bidding to etch her name in the history books as only the second filly to complete the Australasian Oaks-Queensland Oaks double.

Six fillies have attempted to complete the rare feat but only one, the Chris Waller-trained Egg Tart, was successful when she claimed the double in 2017.
