OLD TIMERS TAKE ON YOUNGSTERS IN STAYERS CUP

Ten-year-olds Doukhan and Destiny’s Kiss will be out to get the better of their younger rivals when they take their chance in the Stayer’s Cup (3200m) at Rosehill on Saturday.

The Joe Pride-trained Destiny’s Kiss comes into the race as a last start winner of the Listed Winter Cup (2400m), while the Kris Lees-trained Doukhan finished an excellent fifth in the Group 1 Sydney Cup (3200m) in April and Lees believes a repeat of that form will put him in the picture for Saturday’s race.

“He always races better deeper into his prep and this race looks like it programs nicely for him,” he said.
