MCEVOY CALLS FOR GOVERNMENT SACKINGS

Tony McEvoy has called for sackings within the South Australian government over the lack of support shown to racing in the state.

Just a day after announcing he will be moving a major part of his training business to a new facility in Ballarat, McEvoy said he had been sickened by the state government’s willingness to allow the industry to slide by refusing to return any of the funds the government receives through racing’s point of consumption tax.

“The Government in supporting racing in this state (Victoria), but they are not going near us in South Australia,’’ McEvoy said from Ballarat on Friday morning.

“They have left us to hang out to dry and they should lose their jobs over it.’’
