Matamata Selections For Wednesday

Selections for the Matamata Racing Club’s meeting on Wednesday are:

Race One: Go For Dough, Sure He Can, Chiara.
Go For Dough: Has placed twice this prep before finishing in the middle of the pack last start at
Rotorua.
Sure He Can: Has placed twice from four starts.
Chiara: Placed towards the end of the field when resuming last start at Matamata. Form has shown
she needs more ground. Could be a cheeky chance.

Race Two: Vernanme, Capellani, Flaunt It Girl.
Vernanme: First up. Convincing trial winner over 1200m at Avondale earlier this month.
Capellani: Was just beaten last start at Rotorua, finished strong.
Flaunt It Girl: Strong place bet. Placed at Ellerslie second-up and drops 1kg from last start.

Race Three: Gazzara, Don’t lie to me, Artic Lady.
Gazzara: Was half-a-length behind the leader in his only start.
Don’t lie to me: Just fell short last start at Matamata. Needed the run. Should be fitter for this race.
Artic Lady: First-up last start and was hampered when leaving the barriers. Tried to make up the
ground but fell short. Shows promise.

Race Four: Arrogant, Goboniego, French Cut.
Arrogant: Ran fifth in only start at Ruakaka. Chance.
Goboniego: First-up after spell. Ran third last first-up at Te Awamutu.
French Cut: Second last start at Matamata.

Race Five: Pacific Coast, Armaguard, Belle Fascino.
Pacific Coast: first-up after spell. Has good fresh-up form.
Armaguard: Has won once this prep and was fifth last start at Matamata.
Belle Fascino: Fresh-up after spell. Could be a chance.

Race Six: Kyrie Eleison, Roger That, Athena Baby.
Kyrie Eleison: Placed at Ruakaka last start.
Roger That: First-up after an eight-week fresh up and is a proven performer on a softer track.
Athena Baby: Won once this prep at Te Rapa two starts ago and came second last start at Te Rapa.

Race Seven: Seirios, Gundown, Bluetwentytwo.
Seirois: Last start winner at Matamata.
Gundown: Fresh-up after a 22-week spell.
Bluetwentytwo: Backing up this start. Has won once this prep, six starts ago at Te Teko.

Race Eight: Palamedes, Swiss Stinger, Caballero
Palamedes: Was strong when just beaten at Waipa last start and drops 1kg from last run.
Swiss Stinger: Finished strong at only start at Waipa and has drawn well.
Caballero: Trial winner over 1100m at Te Rapa a week ago. Cheeky chance.
