MAHER/EUSTACE PAIR IN QUEENSLAND CUP

The Ciaron Maher-David Eustace training partnership will attempt to add another stakes win to their tally with a two-pronged assault on the Listed Queensland Cup (3200m) at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

Maher and Eustace, who have their main stables in Victoria, will send Stayer’s Cup (3200m) winner Azuro and Listed Sandown Cup (3200m) winner Yogi for the $200,000 contest, with both reportedly in good order and set to depart for Queensland on Thursday night.

“It is hard to get a line on who will run in Brisbane but our horses have the staying form on the board,” stable spokesperson Annabel Neasham said.

“They don’t get many chances to run over 3200 metres and we have to take them when they come.”
