Jockey Jeff Lloyd will be out to secure one more Group 1 win before his retirement on July 31 when he teams up with impressive last start winner Multaja in tomorrow $A500,000 Tattersall’s Tiara at Eagle Farm in Brisbane.
A champion in his native South Africa, Lloyd has ridden with success in many jurisdictions including in Hong Kong, while he also spent several years in Sydney.
Since moving to Queensland in 2012, Lloyd has ridden more than 650 winners, a figure enhanced by his year-long absence after suffering a stroke in 2013.
He has won three Brisbane metropolitan premierships, 38 stakes races, while a win in this race would be fitting as his last elite level came aboard Pear Tart in the 2012 edition of the race.
“It is always a pleasure to ride for Godolphin and it will be my final Group 1 ride,” Lloyd said.
