Cameron Lammas could have ridden favourite Nirvana In Fire in the 3yo feature at Avondale.
Instead he will pilot Bit Lippy for Wayne Hillis while Jason Waddell rides the favourite..
“He’s strengthened a lot since his 2yo year,” said of his ride. ”He’s trialled very well. He may need the run Saturday but I plan to sit three back and come with the last run.”
Bit Lippy is nominated for the 2000 Guineas in November and is offering $16 on futures.
”If Wayne goes for that race I’d hope to keep the ride,” said Lammas. “He’d be a very good ride.”
Bit Lippy is $4.20 on fixed for Saturday’s race, Nirvana In Fire $3.50.
Lammas has a decent book of rides for Saturday.
He’d like to be on four-win Hong Kong import Hammer King in the R72 sprint.
Lammas trialled the horse for Moira Murdoch at Avondale on September 11 but makes way for two kilo claimer Jasmine Fawcett Saturday
“He’s a nice horse. He should go very well in that race.”
Kaachi (R7) is another of Lammas’ rides. He was seventh in the City of Auckland Cup this year.”The Gibbs stable rates him a lot,”: said Lammas.
“Hopefully I’ll have a good day. but then I thought I would have a good day at Pukekohe but nothing went right.”
