LIBERTINI WILL NOW HAVE A BREAK

Libertini will be turned out  for a spell following her impressive victory in Saturday’s Listed Woodlands Stakes (1100m) at Scone, with the filly set to target feature races upon her return in the spring.

The two-year-old I Am Invincible filly made it two wins from three starts when she cruised to a 2 length victory over Regimental Band, who was a further 2-3/4 lengths clear of the rest.

The Anthony Cummings-trained Libertini won two barrier trials before a debut second in the Group 3 Kindergarten Stakes (1100m) at Randwick and followed that up with an easy 3-1/4 length win over 1200m at her second start.

“She will have a break now and come back for the Princess Series in the spring, including the Group 1 Flight Stakes,” Cummings said.

“I would be surprised if, at the end of the day, she wasn’t a Group 1 winner.

“She is showing the best form of any baby I’ve had. She’s got a couple of boxes ticked now as a stakes winner so she will have a break and hopefully come back and fulfil her potential.”

Libertini’s win brought up the 27th individual stakes winner this season for the stallion I Am Invincible, who also sired the runner up Regimental Band.
