KAH POISED FOR FIRST MELBOURNE CUP RIDE

South Australian jockey Jamie Kah (pictured) could have her first ride in the Melbourne Cup – if Lindsay Park stayer Jaameh collects a golden ticket into the race by winning Saturday’s Lexus Stakes (2500m) at Flemington.

The Adelaide Advertiser has reported Kah has been booked for the Melbourne Cup ride, should the former import squeeze into the $7 million handicap by winning the Lexus Stakes.

The winner of the Lexus earns ballot exemption from the Melbourne Cup, meaning Kah would ride Jameeh at 50kg, plus any penalty the handicapper issued.

Jaameh is rated $4.60 to win the Lexus Stakes and is currently a best-priced $67 in the Melbourne Cup although that price could be expected to shorten dramatically should the David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig gallloper win on Saturday.
