Injury-cursed Victorian jockey Jason Benbow says he will return to race-riding despite suffering another severe setback.
Benbow, 33, will be sidelined for at least six months after breaking his leg in a fall at Sale last month. He said family and friends have suggested he should consider retirement.
“Of course I understand the worry, I have a young family and need to be more careful than I was when I was younger,” Benbow said.
“But it’s hard when I also have such a passion for horses and for the industry and I just can’t accept that it could all finish on just a harmless fall at Sale.”
