HARRIS AND ELLIOT SUSPENDED

Jockeys Troy Harris and Ryan Elliot were both suspended following separate charges of careless riding in the Dunstan Feeds 2100 at last Saturday’s Waikato meeting at Te Rapa.

Harris admitted a charge of careless riding in that he permitted his mount, Giovanni Canaletto, to shift inwards when not sufficiently clear of Gabriel which was checked near the 1800 metres.  After hearing submissions, the Judicial Committee suspended his licence to ride in races from the conclusion of racing on May 25 up to and including racing on June 1 (5 national days).

Elliot admitted a charge of careless riding in that he permitted his mount, Amorata, to shift inwards when not sufficiently clear of Gabriel which was checked near the 350 metres.

After hearing submissions, the Judicial Committee suspended Elliot’s licence to ride in races from the conclusion of racing on May 23 up to and including racing on May 29 (4 national days).
