GIAMMETTI WILL TAKE TIME

She may be royally bred but don’t expect too much from Giammetti at Te Aroha, says co-trainer Julia Ritchie.

The mare out of Telegraph winner Guiseppina starts her racing life in the 6th.

Her trials showings have been anything but stunning and will need   raceday education before she measures up.

“She’s a big good girl like mum was,” said Ritchie.

“We might even give her just one run and then turn her out.”

Giammetti is Guiseppina’s first foal. There’s another waiting in the wings but she’s a fair way off from starting.

Ritchie labels Flourishing (R11) as the stable’s best chance of victory today. It also has Donizetti entered in the ninth

They have scratched Naval Fleet..

Ritchie can’t wait for Seraphim – a daughter of Ethereal – to hit the track again. The stable has cups races lined up for her.
