Think Cataca might be a decent chance in the first at Cambridge tomorrow. Stuck on well behind a promising filly in what was effectively a fresh up run. Goyaram in form. Not a Rogerson fan but think she can go close.

Both Mirabella and Seamsew to upset Te Akau's shorty in the second for mine. They both raced on speed in what was a strong tempo, both stuck on well, particularly Seamsew given that is was 3 wide without cover, has a good record at Cambridge 970m. $8 is a good price to find out. Berbizier a roughy to blow them out of the water, dropped rider at the start in same race and has a decent record over track/distance.

You Know looks a handy price in the fourth. First run in 5 weeks the other day and stuck on well despite being given a lovely run in the race. Another with a decent Cambridge record.

Xplorer in the fifth, Savsumfun a roughie, well bred, closing off well last start with decent sectionals.

Rocket Lad in Race 6, synthetic lover, quiet recent trial, mapped to get a good run with top jockey aboard. $6.50 appealing.

I like Shatin in Race 7. Good working home in limited room first up a fortnight ago and was closing off after the line (positive for a horse going up in distance), potentially can be a little closer in running given his fitness will be improved and with the claim another one at $8.50 who looks a bright hope.

Gasgal a chance in Race 8. Blew the start last time, and from then on was decent given circumstances. Inform apprentice and favourite looked too short for mine.

Ultimate Focus to bring us home with a synthetic lover, Side Eye as a roughie.

Hopefully a couple can land.

Sorry I have to advocate for the shorty in the 2nd , I know the price is short , but last start for a 3yo filly to get bashed around as much as she did from start to finish and still have the will to finish like she did was massive .

I'm biased of course .

Keegan is short enough at $4.40 in the last but ran a great trial on track on May 6 and loves the synthetic.

Bet of the day for me.

I thought Llahsa was a shoe in the last on it's record there .

Could be a big day for shorties and McNab has a good book .

Not with that weight…

Gone up 2kgs for an easy 4l win , same jockey with the same claim and drawn 1 , loves the A/W and won an open on grass prior to that , should be a class above again .

If he does win could possibly be his last start on the track for a while .

Yes, true mate. Well rated. There are a few with track form including Keegan, Ultimate Focus and Side Eye. Our Blue Belle the knockout with Rooke on.

Whether he can give them all weight we’ll have to wait and see….;)

Sorry Bob for today its what I was saying the powers that be change the rules to suit themselves and she was forced to race out of her correct grade...she would have one clearly in what should of been a 65 ...why they never ran her at Ellerslie on Saturday is another question she has a ton of ability, and that in itself is hard to find.

Spot on NM. Never looked like losing with no pressure.
Could have carried even more weight and beaten that lot….

But here in lies the problem with good A/W horses , because they went into the building and racing of A/W tracks half arsed , good horses have a limited shelf life on them unless they keep lumping bigger and bigger weights until they fall over .

A/W racing and it's limitations pretty much mirrors how all of NZ racing is being run now , nothing is 100% .

Like to get on early fixed odds on those I’m following..

Ellerslie

R4 Barcelona - unlucky last week after missing the start. $27/9  - No jockey

Also in R5 over 2000m with Kate Hercock engaged.  Was $27, now in to $20.

R7 Starscream - nice finish first up 4th. Vinnie sticks. - $31/9

Eagle Farm

R6 Rhapsody Chic - unlucky lately, gets McEvoy - $23/6

R8 Pleasure Artist - no luck lately though this might be too tough - $51/11
