Our two in tonight and Eagle Farm tomorrow.

Canty R5 Reasonable $9.50 - got her first win last start but much harder here. Honest though.

EF R6 Until Valhalla $6.50 - good run last start and meets fave 2kg better off. Hope its enough.

Few nice ones in at Matamata worth watching..

R1 Daring Dame $6.50

R2 La Prima Dama $17

R3 Old mate Apache Anne $8.50

R5 December $4.40 - should have won last start

R6 Sabrina Hall $6

Queensland, we have a classy team heading to Eagle Farm. GOODLUCKTOME enters as the favourite, bringing strong form from his last start. UNTIL VALHALLA is looking to return to form despite a tricky draw. She’s been racing well and truly deserves a win for her connections.

Gee Gryllsy has made the whole "front runner slam the brakes on then run away from them" tactics his own.  Schooling his colleagues lately.  His strike rate must be sub 5 the last couple months.

Edit to add: had a quick add up and think hes won 21 of his last 82 starts

Gotta love how they get away with it, bloody ridiculous but they get results

Leica Lucy has been impressive but the Te Rapa race was a walk sprint albeit interupted in the run home...$1.45 only if they repeat the dose, Rooke fell asleep on Alaskan and surprised to see hes back on? 2400 looks good  for the Oaks and 7s place excites if she gets there....you know the odds so try and beat them 🤣

Despite it costing me a "life" in the comp yesterday, I loved seeing Sam Wynne push forward mid race on Loftys Gift and then go on to outstay them in the Cup.

A tremendous card at Ellerslie as you might expect for Champions Day and even though I'm half a world away, I shall watch the replays when I get up in the morning.

There's a horse called TAJANIS running in the Auckland Cup - he ran here as a 3-y-o in the care of William Haggas and was an improving middle distance handicapper winning his final UK race in September 2023 over 2800m. He was running in first time blinkers and this was on Soft turf - I'm not saying he'll win tomorrow but he's an interesting type.

In the main races, my idea of the winners as follows:

Sistema - RETURN TO CONQUER

Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes - LEGARTO

Bonecrusher NZ Stakes - LA CRIQUE

Auckland Cup - TAJANIS (each way)

Kiwi - DAMASK ROSE

Derby - TUXEDO

Good luck to all playing in the main races.

One of my favourite racing stories is that of Joe Janiak and Takeover Target. Joe has a horse he bred and owns racing at Eagle Farm tomorrow. Race 6 #3 Speedy One. Unbeaten in 3 starts. Here is a link to full story - https://www.couriermail.com.au/sport/horse-racing/nsw-racing/takeover-target-trainer-joe-janiak-returns-to-the-track-for-unbeaten-sprinter-speedy-one-at-eagle-farm/news-story/22b557dfac3ad51ca7d356e2fdd308c9

Didnt do so well on Blackie the other Day PAKS COMPLETELY OUTRIDDEN BY ULRIKA. His Colleagues are  courageous but at present lacking in talent with all due respect, we will see how he handles the Oaks tomorrow where he will need to  ride a bottler even though many see Lucy as unbeatable...has had it easy if they decide to get competitive he will need to adhere to pre race planning ..... My comment was  based on past performance and Grubb is certainly going great guns lately.....Gees Wayne

Interesting card at Trentham with a few coming back from Aussie.

R3 Gentian Blue $4.80 - might be too sharp for her fresh but has quality.

R6 Fall for Cindy $21/5 - been ridden on speed, needs to be ridden quieter. Best OZ form right in this.

R8 Oaks - Lucy too short. Dubai Gold $21/4 and Alaskan $ 35/6 both better value and should stay.

R9 Puketiro $23 - in and out sort. Nice trial and blinkers on.

Express Yourself $7 - raced in good company in OZ. Set for this.

Awful day yesterday, surprised I’m still in the comp !

Fall for Cindy was unlucky, ready to win now. Great run from stablemate Dubai Gold, Lucy just too tough.

Puketiro was hanging all race and might be retired to the broodmares paddock now.
Ryan Hurdle must be wondering why he bothered coming over as Express Yourself never fired a shot.

thought the place at 7.25 futures was great value Paksy ,but by the same token everyone involved particularly the ownership group would of expected the jockey to have a clear run wide moving forward before the turn to have ANY Chance of competing against a horse that was always on paper impossible to beat if you were behind her.... hats off to Craig Grylls that ride was top shelf and the confidence from it promotes more of the same, Riddell was piss weak and riding for luck was what they already had with Rooke...thats racing.... so important to get your combinations right and hopefully the riding instructions were not adhered to

had to laugh at Bevan Sweeney and Justin talking about the last today at Hawera, they picked half the field and left out what looked the best overs bet of the day Hesabattler ...Bevan had a hard on for Spinayarns price saying they are coming for it and Leave a light on as The Battler dropped in more  Sharply late .......then he makes excuses for the others after Battler was taken back from a wide draw and took off wide from the 700 sustaining a strong gallop to win ridden beautifully by Madan by a widening 3 lengths.....Bevan, wake up and help the punters and do some homework while your at it

Wouldn't call myself a tipster by any means but La Crique at $18/$4.50 at Rosehill looks a handy bet even if only on the place.

I thought so to. Trainer has said they are expecting quite a bit of rain there tomorrow which won't worry them. Too much rain might worry a few others though.

Judging by the double acceptors there will be a few scratchings in OZ tomorrow.

Our mare UNTIL VALHALLA runs at Doomben R5. Surprised at that because her last run was awful. Stable is happy with her though and stepping up to 1600m on a wet track is seen as positive. Drops in grade from BM 78 to 70 and gets an apprentice allowance. $7.00 currently so fingers crossed.

Maher stable has some excellent chances headlined by Pride of Jenni, Duke de Sessa, Berkshire Breeze/Shadow and Qatars Choice at Morphettville. Amazake and Nugget also expected to run well.

Trentham - interested to see how CROUPIER goes against the Marsh pair. Astute stable and owners so $13 is tempting.

Rosehill

R2 QUIETLY ARROGANT - backs up from slipper last week where I expected better. Up in distance and JMac on $10.

R10 RHAPSODY CHIC - a fave from last prep when she won 4 in a row. Trialled well and loves the wet. $15 looks overs.

Flemington

Will be interesting to see how Alabama Lass handles the straight. On ratings she should win but no certainty there.

R2 STRICTLY BUSINESS - nice trial recently and $23 looks good value at her first start.

R6 PISANELLO - lovely fresh up run in Sydney and good here so $3.40 about right.
