The one thing that you can't do at Ellerslie , live and learn .

The NFL game was great though , so something positive .

What about those Bears eh….never give up attitude gets them home again.

TAB let the price out to tasty odds when they were down at halftime..

👍

They called that track a good 4 yet times say otherwise, the first race looked very competitive and they only really just broke 1.12...2.13 2100m, 1.24.5, 1.36.... tempo related?  Few black bookers today and rail again looked less desirable than nearer the fence. You know the odds

Fair bit of irrigation put on so plenty of moisture underneath.

Would have thought that track would give most a chance.

My old mate Chaource looked unlucky being hampered by Scouser and would have been a lot closer with a clear run. Good to see her getting back to form.

Doesnt the 'going stick' allow for that Hokes? Ive seen them prodding indescriminitly on occasion and that thing looked to take away the crust theory..or not?  Hey you looking for a futures bet in the oaks i dont mind Scarlett Spell $81/$21  that run the other day looked promising enough to me, and up to 2400 spot on

I thought we both went broke following this one?  😂

Riccarton tomorrow I'll have to backup with Captain upham, after those 67$ juicy odds, winning form good form, Mr fletcher tidy run last start, wide the trip, but draw a absolute shocker,

Tip of the day, an Auckland bakery selling L'oi Hoosi pies made of horse meat, demand very high with people racing into to buy one for friends an neigh bours, apparently has a bit of spice so may have a kick with it,  next time I'm in Auckland I'll gallop down to get one, as long as it doesn't give me the trots.

That might not go down so well with a lot on here

Dont mind Huzzar at 40s today, Danis in form and the horse showed something of earlier promise when based in the North last start at Reefton

My two are Texas Dolly and Wry Smile in the last both for Floor Moerman.

That Aurora Storm had run against some decent sorts in the North so probably not that much of a surprise.

Don Pauly is another later on that could improve quickly.

Thats a good race for a few turnups, Vaudevire and Roca mile quin /exacta tidy

Wellington

Horses to watch

Race 4- 14 Protheatrics- usually stays in form and always therabouts

Race 5- 7 Gillian- stablemate of the above and big run last start finishing off really well in a strong race

Race 6- 10 Crouch- starting to hit good form now and should be in the finish, 16 Sassy Lass - could be hitting form now after some average races, 14- Santa Catalina- also in good form and should carry that on

Race 7 -2 Fairy Dream- massive finish last start at Auckland and looks like a top Derby or Oaks contender

Jockey to follow there today- Joe Doyle

R6, Trentham, One Bold Cat

Looks a pretty good chance under SW&P conditions. And I think I read no rehandicap for Wellington Cup if that's the next goal. With some handy in-form handicappers to oppose he's currently at $6. G1 placed, last start winner with 59kg, cut out of the ground, #1 hoop aboard, can't see him being beaten.

Hoping the Maher stable have a good one today.

Nice chances all over.

They like Tornado Valley in the GC Millions with blinkers on today - $7

Unit Five a rough hope at $13 but tough task here.

Warwoven now out so prices will adjust accordingly.

Flemington - Navy Heart, Celerity and St George all winning hopes.

Our mare Until Valhalla R9 - has improved with first up run and track should suit even though further better. They think she is over the odds.
$20 into $15 with stablemate scratched this morning. Go girl…🙏

Randwick - Editing has been waiting for rain, gets it today $10

R8 Rhapsody Chic - been waiting for this one. Nice trials. Wants wet $12

Trentham

Steven Gray might have a decent day depending on rain.

R3 - Dazz big improver. Held up at Ellerslie so run better than it looked  $13

Poppys Girl a chance back to R65, good run at Trentham two back.

R9 Anderson Bridge looks better than these but might come out with more rain.

Riverplate at $15 worth a look. Meets Belle Tribute 7kg better off from last run.

Robbie Patterson has a big hand in this.

Good luck….👍

I also rate the trainer.

Tawhiti Hini is a trainer I have followed for a few years now. Last year had 8 wins from 62 starters. This year only 2 wins from 22 starters but does tend to have more runners over winter/spring.

His horses generally pay well.

I'm struggling to work out why Palmarow is paying $15 in R5 at Trentham. She went a huge race last time and has stacks of ability.

I also rate the trainer.

prob cos it's a big, even field with many in-form contenders, including visitors from far and wide - Palmarow is stepping up sharply in trip, from 1600m to 2200m and is untried at the distance.
IMO the price is very tempting for a horse with plenty of upside, handles rain-affected ground and likely to get a cosy trip from the inside draw.
Am also keen on Manzor Blue at decent odds.
