Congrats nomates a big win from a very decent mare...she should be given a chance in a decent race on the grass...I would love to own one with anywhere near the amount of heart and ability that she has...she is a real trier with a great will to win.

to whom do we refer? Brazen Beau?

🏇 Antz Official Saturday Set

Turning up the heat this Saturday

Saturday’s program across Riccarton, Rosehill, and Flemington features debutants with potential, proven Group performers, and value plays. The card offers opportunities for confident selections and strategic wagers alike.

🔥 Best Bets

Riccarton
• Race 1 #11 War Of Silence – A well-bred colt making his debut. Trials show ability and composure. Drawn to settle comfortably, he should feature in the finish.

Rosehill
• Race 6 #1 Autumn Boy – A high-class colt with proven Sydney metropolitan form. Tactical versatility and a strong finishing burst make him a reliable anchor.
• Race 7 #2 Jolliestar – A seasoned mare with consistent top-level performances. Late acceleration and racecraft make her a genuine threat in races with a strong tempo.
• Race 9 #5 Autumn Glow – Honest and consistent, this mare thrives under tempo and is expected to finish strongly.

Flemington
• Race 8 #5 Via Sistina – An established champion, fully race-fit and proven at the highest level. Tactical versatility and a sustained, powerful finishing burst suit Flemington’s long straight perfectly. Under James McDonald, she is expected to dominate late.
• Race 9 #3 Lazzura – A lightly raced filly with clear progressive potential. Expected to settle midfield and finish strongly.

💰 Each-Way Play

Flemington
• Race 5 #5 Warnie – A reliable gelding who consistently finishes strongly. Durable and consistent, making him an attractive each-way option.
🎯 Value Shot

Flemington
• Race 10 #8 Pounding – Back to an ideal trip with expected solid tempo. Market undervaluation makes him a strong value play.

📝 Closing Thoughts

Saturday’s card allows for a layered approach:
• Riccarton: War Of Silence is an intriguing debutant.
• Rosehill: Autumn Boy and Jolliestar provide high-class anchors, while Autumn Glow adds reliable late-program coverage.
• Flemington: The principal theatre for high-confidence and strategic plays. Via Sistina is the standout champion; Lazzura offers progressive upside; Warnie delivers dependable each-way value; Pounding presents genuine market value.
Combining confident selections with calculated value plays positions punters to maximise both certainty and profit potential across all three venues.

One at Newcastle today.

Been following GREBENI for a while now, has been unlucky multiple times.

Good second up (3/5) and McEvoy has won on him five times.

$17/4 looks worth a bet.

EX kiwi NATOYA ($14) fresh up on Saturday Newcastle R8.

Looked very good winning here for Roger James.

Good win for the battlers today, miss onaki, long time between drinks since last win, broke my punting drought to,  fixed odds caught me out again, went from 27s to 40s in short time, one doubts there changes an how they set them, pleased tor the connections, she's had a few trainers and owners, and may have been in the pike stable early on.

Randwick R6 - Apocalyptic - spotted this one at the trials in the summer and went a nice race in its only start.  Was well in the Slipper market but something must have gone wrong with that prep.  Couple of nice easy trials leading into this and has a top jockey up and hopefully gets a nice trip from the ace draw.

This girl is pretty good.  $2 favourite now to win the Flight Stakes.

James Cummings rated this horse (alongside Beiwacht) as being lined up for some big races so looks decent money on offer in a minor race at Sandown R3?

The drift possibly a worry but I'm going anyway 👍

I’ll be following up on Skybird at $7.50 in a good race.

La Dorada looks well placed in R5 18 rating points ahead of anything else at set weights. ( Fave is R78 ) $10 looks value but no money for it so far.

Interested to see how Point Barrow goes ( R70 )..this is tough but she is good.

I'm keen on Baraqiel in the Manikato tonight.  Loves Moonee Valley and won very well last start.  3rd run back from a spell should be at peak for this.  I've gone Win/Show/Place on fixed odds.  Win ($5), Show ($2.50) and Place ($1.70).  Charm Stone my roughie from the good gate ($3 Top 4).

On a different note, when has Roger James ever had a 2yo racing in September?  The world has gone mad!  (Otaki R2, Spellbound).
