Great effort by Alabama Lass yesterday, I thought she had it won when she moved to the lead on the point of the turn. At least Ken Kelso knows that she can compete over there, perhaps second up over 1200m in the Manikato is a good chance?

Just glad that Tuxedo is a galloper.. Imagine him as a trotter/pacer racing at Alexandra Park with Aaron White using his favourite saying... "Tuxedo all dressed up and nowhere to go"

I also had Skybird in the comp... but my hardest watch of the day was Genorosity in the sprint at Randwick. Have a watch back on the fence jogging along all the way down the straight.

It's the toughest step up , 3yo to 4yo , far less then taking on the hardened WFA horses .

He'll be better for the run and maybe next season will be a better horse .

Thought Tomodachi was outstanding considering was bumped around early and charged through small gaps late.

From Racenet.com - Like her stablemate, she had very little luck in the Concorde. The former West Australian mare never got a clear shot at them and went to the line under a very strong hold.

Yes was clearly the unlucky runner in the race.

Race 9 - G1 Moir Stakes (1000m)

Favourite: Skybird ($5), finished sixth

What happened: Skybird did not have the gate speed to find a forward position and after they'd gone 100m, she was pushed back to the inside rail behind a wall of horses. Travelled sweetly but rider John Allen was forced to sit up halfway down the straight as there was nowhere for her to go. Cannot condemn on that run.

RV stewards: Skybird underwent a veterinary examination upon arrival, having not raced since February 2025 after a pectoral muscle tear, and was passed suitable to race. Difficult to load. Passing the 700m was eased when awkwardly placed inside the heels of Rothfire. Unable to obtain clear running in the straight, going to the line not fully tested. Trainer Mitchell Freedman was notified Skybird will be required to compete in a jumpout to the satisfaction of stewards before being permitted to race again due to being difficult to load. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any significant findings.

Quintessentially, I'd say neither. But he looked to be up La Crique on a Dusty Road, if Max may mix metaphors.
Hold on...mebbe he justs needs a jockey change. A Tayla, perhaps?

Congrats nomates a big win from a very decent mare...she should be given a chance in a decent race on the grass...I would love to own one with anywhere near the amount of heart and ability that she has...she is a real trier with a great will to win.
