Blue 1,095 Report post Posted August 17, 2022 The forecast I generally go by says 69mls today, 89mls tomorrow and 44mls Saturday for New Plymouth so having a share in a mare due to race there doesn't thrill me much from the point of view I'm not fussed on paying transport for something that very possibly won't happen. Leggy 4,076 Report post Posted August 18, 2022 An inspection of the track at New Plymouth was undertaken on Friday morning by Race Club Officials. With significant surface water already present after a massive amount of rain over the last 48 hours and a forecast for ongoing rain including on race day the decision has been made to abandon the meeting scheduled for Saturday 20 August. We will look at the possibility of splitting or adding races over the coming weeks where required. The intention is to move the Interprovincial Race to the Extreme Raceday at New Plymouth on Saturday 17 September.
scooby3051 10,873 Report post Posted August 18, 2022 No point having a horse in work this winter so many meetings canned so who suffers only the owners as always ...having to pay training fees week in week out...they should of spent the 40 plus million on fixing the existing tracks to be able to handle the traffic they are asking them to..but no go for a synthetic surface that most people seem to not really like...another waste of good money.JMO
Nerula 1,402 Report post Posted August 18, 2022 Part of the problem is the number of tracks down. Ellerslie, Te Aroha, Wanganui, Awapuni. Then its the weather.we have seen this winter. Next one is H and S. Everyone scared of Work-safe. That is understandable. Another serious accidents will cost those in control large. Like north of 1/4 million. The recent death whilst unrelated to track will see TR and maybe RIU very worried about possible action. THE TORCH
