TimTimTimbo 227 Report post Posted July 23, 2022 1st race a $240,000 the one horse not by Lazarus won, Looks far and away the best so far. One poor filly went down in the backstretch, did the human version of the splits, hope she is ok, but she was in the trail and she either panicked or choked and went down in slow motion. Colts racing soon Here is the program if anyone is interested https://playmeadowlands.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/mxx0722p.pdf

Well off to the real world now for the Lazarus' . Then we will see how good they are. The horse that went down basically dropped dead. So Lazarus has failed to do what the great Christian Cullen done and win both sires stakes finals with his 2yo's and the CC had to contend with the 1st crop of SBSW in his year. Lazarus had nearly 100% of starters this year and still couldn't win both sires stakes finals.

lamour 673 Report post Posted July 23, 2022 Seems strange that in a sires stakes series where each division is worth $240k that only 2 stallions would have stock racing. Were DBTS & Captaintr. Stock not eligible?. Not sure how it works. Can anyone enlighten us? Either way you look at it, it is an impressive performance by Laz, but I guess when the open races like the Woodrow Wilson are run we will get more idea where he sits compared to the established sires

DBTS is in Ohio and CT Pennsylvania. Although the Kentucky program has something to do with the mare being a resident in that state while carrying the foal. Quite a few of the Lazarus progeny will race there. I think I heard that Perfect Sting will have his first progeny in the NJ SS next year so should be a little bit more competition there. lamour
