Do drivers not make mistakes ? How would you really know if the prescribed action been more successful ?

Who would want to be a driver then ?

Take Smokin Annie's recent win for example, down at the beginning  of the back straight   she was last, eventually every driver on the rails from that point other than the driver of Smokin Annie came off the rails which provided the win. Should not all the other drivers who moved outward from the rails be suspended ?

We know that recent stats show that the rails are generally  the place to be at Addington.??

Admitted to something in hindsight should not be relevant .Just like a winger in rugby , you have a split second to sidestep left or right , one could produce a try , the other results in a tackle being made on you.

Ps. Haven't  watch the actual race  concerned but do not really think it needs to be to , ... to have my opinion as above.

If she had been driving a favoured runner fair enough to say it was a poor drive. But surely when you are driving a horse that’s going to need all favours just to place, drivers should be able to adopt appropriate tactics without fear of suspension.   In this case she was following the fav and it was reasonable to hope he would carry her into the finish.   If the fav had run on as expected she could have run top 3 and it would have been seen as a great drive.  Only thing she did wrong IMO was to plead guilty to the charge.

She's getting few drives in Canterbury so probably a good time for her to have a rest. She needs it as does a lot of travelling. She is a dedicated young woman heading to the top.

F....n hell just seen this. Watched the race and ok maybe could have gone earlier. She was parked early then following fav. Her horse is imo a nice horse but no champ and its form is just ok.

4 days is IMO excessive . I guess Stewards have now drawn a line in sand so we can expect a lot more 4 day suspensions for similar reasons.

Stewards penalties are way out of context - none of them succeeded in the game but now ruling heavily on a minor error of judgement .

Yes correct. Easy pickings for them a female jnr. The word "Bullies" comes to mind or guttless Bullies fits the bill better!

I noticed that there was no one there to represent her. Usually, her father Gerard does, the most honest man in harness, straight as an arrow like his legend father the straightest trainer in the west Patrick O'Reilly, King of Highbank. Stewards have always had it in for the family. Straightest and most honourable faimily in Australasian harness. O'Reilly. Patrick junior, one of the best trainers and drivers ever in NZ, Kerry O'Reilly, like his niece he was a top junior driver and one of the best drivers in the country until the Norton incident, fe drives after that and who can blame him. Leo O'Reilly, not as gifted driver like rest of famly, but still good horseman; Gerard O'Reilly the most underrated driver in Australasia. Sarah best since Dexter. Honest the lot of them.

Anyway, young Sarah is a quiet, reserved young woman and not match for the stipes out to get her, She took it on the chin.

According to the report Her father assisted her.    The 4 day suspension is way over the top.     If drivers are no longer allowed to drive for luck on an outsider is that giving the horse the best possible chance of placing?
