Crow 226 Report post Posted July 12, 2022 27 minutes ago, scooby3051 said: yes but why take the meeting in the first place surely someone would have known what would happen. Well Scooby Doo the meeting Hawera took was the abandoned New Plymouth's apprentice Day not Wanganui so the Great Mr Hobbs would have organized that. He must hold the record as being involved in the most abandonments. Taranaki uses Hawera for jumpouts generally after each meeting through Hobbs to appease the New Plymouth trainers so Hawera gets more than its fair share of traffic over it and so anyone who thinks these tracks are humming with grass growth this time of the year are on a different planet. It does not matter which meeting they took truth is they should not have taken any...just another cock up by the leaders of the industry...its nuts....but as Chris says the trainers association sold their soul to NZTR...so we get what we deserve now... Leggy 4,009 Report post Posted July 12, 2022 Meeting News Woodville Abandoned 14 July The Woodville Meeting scheduled for Thursday 14 July has been abandoned. This decision was made after club reps, a jockey rep and the RIB inspected the track this morning. A large amount of rain has been received both overnight and today on an already particularly wet track. There is surface water both on the track and in surrounding areas. The Trentham nominations remain open until 9am tomorrow morning (Wednesday).

Maybe a visibility problem for jockeys? Weather bomb predicted, proactive response from the CJC, no use getting everyone here, then the jockeys calling it off with visibility concerns. Postponed till Thursday, everyone is happy! The real harsh weather hasn’t hit yet, a bit of rain, but what was forecast hasn’t arrived yet! gubellini

Course it does as Hobbs involved with both clubs at least have the statement correct . Missed the point really Hobbs would have been instrumental in them taking it as he has a lot to make up for in Taranaki, he probably told them afterwards , didn't go into bat for Stratford but quick to want those dates Hawera got 2 dates in August could see much grass growth between now and then; good luck with that 2 hours ago, scooby3051 said: At least done early so nobody out of pocket...they gonna have no tracks soon if this keeps up. Still got Woodville for another day as they aren't using this week. They race again in August before 2 Jumping days September and early October no pressure there not
