Crow 229 Report post Posted June 5, 2022 Why is one of the CD best winter tracks now unusable in the winter?
MrBigStuff 394 Report post Posted June 5, 2022 The best? It was shit racing watching them all charge towards the outside rail where the fast lane was. Just Looking, Huey and We're Doomed

No different to in their day Foxton least there is a fast lane ask D Walsh or watch trials from Foxton you might learn something. Trentham, Awapuni , Otaki Hastings don't seem to have one. Only Winter CD track they can come from anywhere on , inside or out is Waverley yesterday proved that. Huey
MrBigStuff 394 Report post Posted June 5, 2022 Doesn’t make for good racing though, lets all scramble to get to the fast lane Huey

MrBigStuff 394 Report post Posted June 5, 2022 Im not singling out Wanganui, but it’s also a saftey concern. Charging to the outside fence especially when the outside fence is usually made of metal, wire and in most cases the posts in the ground with concrete. remember Gizzy and Troy Harris I think it was, yes it was an inside rail but that was a shocking incident. just saying,

Baz (NZ) 1,722 Report post Posted June 5, 2022 Well I was bitterly disappointed with the move from Wanganui to Waverley because that track was running faster than my horse! Cubes and Pam Robson 1

Only got themselves to blame after that recent meeting that was abandoned after 2 races. Quite a few northern trainers/owners were there and not a word from a club official spoken directly to them - would make a good Tui billboard Meeting abandoned - get back in your trucks and drive 7 or 8 hours back home and we will see you next meeting- yeah right! second last meeting at Trentham = 1 horse nominated from north of Taupo This Saturday so far no horses north of Taupo nominated. Memphis3 1,262 Report post Posted June 8, 2022 Yeh well the experts said that’s what we had to do. They didn’t think long term and now it’s back firing with tracks overloaded. Getting Messara wasn’t a bad idea. Expert on Ozi conditions. Expert on all aspects not just breeding. But they should have had a NZ expert ( there are a few on here) and Messara and have some sort of balance. Good tracks sitting idle while over used tracks getting hammered. Not ideal. Grey Ghost 36 Report post Posted June 9, 2022 The issue is the lack of investment in tracks and facilities. First Foxton has no facilities for raceday so stop taking about them like there a silver bullet or should the Club build those facilities? How many years ago did they lose those and still nothing to replace them?

They run trials fine and apart from a weigh room which I'm sure there is enough space for there isn't a lot more required is there?
