Nelli 434 Report post Posted February 13, 2022 The low noms at Auckland this week signal bigger problems over winter. Is it about time that apart from 2yo races, in run-of-the-mill meetings pacers are treated like the trotters: noms for maidens and the rest split according to ratings? Then mix types of races and hcps up for both gaits e.g. hcp 2700 stand one week then the next 2200 mobiles with prefential draw based on money won in last 4 starts. It would mix up who were the favorites. hsvman
tasman man 742 Report post Posted February 14, 2022 71 noms for 11 races is a disgrace....4 x noms for a few races , two for one race , small noms for non-winners...trainers are taking the piss ! They will fiddle around and get 8 races somehow and throw in preferential draws etc. Three OK trot races should be good ...maybe 10 horse fields ditto the two year olds ! The pacer famine is the real concern . Maybe turn the Kidz Kartz into a tote race and take the good trot nominations and give them two starts for the night! Two heats ,then a final and consolation ! Two races could be come 4 !
tasman man 742 Report post Posted February 14, 2022 Addington not a whole lot better with only 91 noms for 11races. Zero noms for 2 yr old race and 2x races for the better class of horse light on noms as well. Meanwhile Rangiora gets 164 noms , on the grass during the day on Sunday. A lot of non-winners racing and almost every horse rated below 54 rating. Probably most of the horses owned within 90 mins drive and Sunday day provides a good outing. The bigger fields with few hotties suits the masses. napier
eljay 1,720 Report post Posted February 14, 2022 This will be the norm no doubt - check the exports list. That answers a lot of questions.
