Dynamite 312 Report post Posted February 2, 2022 Did the CEO walk before he was asked to leave? This must been seen as to how bad a situation, financially , the club are in Robert Dunn joins the Board - does he not have a history of bad betting debts and owing 100's of thousands of dollars when he run a TAB outlet , as well as many positive swabs. Jamie McKinnon races his horses out of the Dunn Barn and races them in the South Island, and very close friends with Dunn The ATC are doomed JJ Flash, meomy and Keneperu 1

frankie 119 Report post Posted February 9, 2022 The latest is that some senior management and directors have given themselves large bonuses/consultancy fees since the end of their last financial year? If it is true, I hope we see the end of the ATC as quickly as possible. tasman man

mikenz 1,088 Report post Posted February 12, 2022 With a half hour or so till the first of the late quaddie a pool of less than $2500, despite being a big meeting seems no promotion from the TAB at all, is it a saturday night thing, too many short priced favourites or just dont give a shit? One has to go back to 2014 to get into double figures. I suspect having to front up with the full entry fee a couple of weeks after the sales eliminates quite a few from the Harness Millions, especially if the buyer was looking for a ~$10k yearling

Probably by at least doing something, better than doing NOTHING, surely could have thought of some other betting options etc, otherwise what's the point ? .. agree to some extent though as the tiny fields would have turned so many off. I nearly forgot they were on, that's how well promoted it was. It is glaringly obvious that the racing industry is up against it, but never see anyone involved in the industry stand up and take it by the scruff of the neck, all these reports and investigations are B.S, and our government and previous govts dont give a rat's arse. Tauhei Notts 1,409 Report post Posted February 13, 2022 The Auckland Trotting Club have a huge problem. What should have been a showpiece of harness racing developed into a sick joke. When the fourth worst winner was at 5 to 2 ON, anybody with a room temperature intelligence quotient would know that this is uncompetitive racing. tasman man
eljay 1,719 Report post Posted February 13, 2022 Just thinking - wonder what the result would have been if TAB bookies had not set fixed odds prices on the meeting. Tote divvy usually not much different from their quotes so perhaps they are a dominant factor. And of course if there is a big bet on a horse their quote is very quickly adjusted accordingly! Simple fact is harness racing in NZ is dead in the water as far as Saturday nights go, rugby and league on tv takes precedence, Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays and Saturday and Friday afternoons seems to be about it, that meeting at Auckland was on trackside 2 so pushed aside for the Aussie gallops, it has its time but Saturday night no longer. eljay 1,719 Report post Posted February 13, 2022 Dont see what channel it was on had much to do with it - same result regardless. Not being a frequent watcher of trackside (rater be on course and get the live atmosphere) surely you turn it on and there is the meeting for the night! eljay 1,719 Report post Posted February 28, 2022 Another week looms at Auckland with small fields and no doubt microscopic divvies. Most of those that start will be fodder (as usual) for All Stars. Too many feature races on the one night damaging to the tote. Auckland need to either prune their number of big races they run or spread them more evenly over the season.
