How desperate are tab for your money with all sports betting and racing from north and south america

I assume they very desperate ...one of the big drivers when they updated to an expensive betting platform a few moons ago was to be able to match what some of their opposition offered.

NZ tab offered some 2000 options daily....their opponents over 20,000 options.

Growth from the Fixed Odds platform has been very significant.

In addition Sports betting has seen huge growth in recent years , and this continues with increasing interest in In-play options particularly in Basketball.

A few years ago Basketball was the top sport for turnover on NZ TAB....20% of sport total.

Other sports with big events in the Americas are Tennis, Golf , MMA, Boxing and American Football.

I remember reading that the American Football Final was the NZTAB's biggest single event during the month ,ahead of any horse race.

And Sports betting sometimes exceeds Thoroughbred racing in a month.....one month where Sport smashed racing ,Basketball including College BB was 43% of the total.

Yes a bit of BB in Aussie too but NBA dominates.

Sports run thru many multis and the margins good too !

But racing in Chile etc ....your criticism 'fair' there .

I guess as the monkey said while peeing in the ocean......Every little bit counts !

Better than the Quality of the England cricket team I hope !🙂🙂

I've just watched the "highlights" on the BBC Iplayer.

The way Joss Buttler got out happened to me once - when I was playing at school.

I havnt seen any of the ashes, no sky these days, seems like it might be one of the big non events, England ain't that bad aside but the preparation wasn't very helpful, shades of our team two years ago.

As for betting on Ameican or South Ameracan sport on the TAB, well if they dont have it customers will just go somewhere else, I personally believe that even though we may not like some of the aspects of the TAB they do put back to our own sports organizations and our race clubs, most of the corporates overseas dont give a shit about NZ, dont ever forget that.

I'm going to be controversial and suggest England might do a lot better in the Third Test. It's classic "backs to the wall" stuff so a double ton from Joe Root is on offer.

As for the TAB offerings, the time difference makes coverage of UK and Irish racing as difficult as it is for us to show NZ racing.

Tomorrow we'll have 8 English race meetings and 3 Irish - one of the specialist racing channels, Racing UK, has so much it's had to split the Irish coverage which is going on to a Free-to-Air channel so I will be able to watch the big Leopardstown races without having to pay along with the main ITV Racing and the At The Races so it'll be a feast after days of famine.

They do start Irish and English dog racing at 8am to get the early bird punters and I suppose that could be late evening in NZ but you have so much Australian dog racing I can't imagine you'd need any more from the UK. Starting a horse race meeting under floodlights at midnight to attract Australian and NZ punters - I'm not sure, would it work?

Very optimistic there Stodge !
Not sure Crawley and Bairstow will help much or leaving Broad out again…..

The Aussies have Capt Cummins back and Boland is the new boy who has a very good MCG record with Richardson out injured.

As for your last para above, it would be a waste of time on current turnovers.

Depressingly predictable start to Boxing Day.

Raining here in east London so will make do with the Christmas Eve paper which has all the runners and riders for the racing.

England have been woeful in the cricket it seems - will watch the highlights later with a stiff drink.
