I think I've been short changed in R3 but then I also think I've been given too many points in R4, which seems to have put me back in about the same place anyway haha. Or is it just my maths? Great comp, was a fun day despite the abandonment of Trentham and the rain and late scratchings at Matamata. Many thanks. Have checked... I actually gave you too many points in race 3. I entered your pick as #7 and credited you with 38.46 points... But in fact you selected #9 which was a Scratching so have changed your points to 5 points. Remember all BB's for the day ended up being null and void. In race 4 you had #14 for 17.54 points and that was correct as allocated. NB to all: I waited several mins for the divvies in the last race to update before recording them.... however, I note they've since changed again albeit very minor. But I've updated the results again.

But I've updated the results again. I replaced the scratched #9 with #7 before the cut off time. It is on page 2 of 4 pages, so the original 38.46 points you gave me was correct. That was my only BB at Matamata, but I realise the bonus was gone. As I said, I felt my final total was correct (although it's not now) but it was just the 57.76 subtotal given after R3 didn't seem to tally with the divvies (should have been 71.22) but was correct again at 88.76 after the 17.54 from R4. No big deal. I wasn't good enough haha.

Insider 3,876 Report post Posted December 4, 2021 I am so disappointed to have been eliminated that I would like another go next week on the three NZ meetings. Scooby if you are prepared to run another Lose to Win competition, I will stump up $200 as part or all of the prize. scooby3051 10,695 Report post Posted December 5, 2021 Hi Liz, I am fine just need to see if my trusty scorer is available...he is the most important dog in the comp wheel...apart from the competitors that is..... Liz Just a thought, have only two best bets per meeting, would have been a bit easier yesty to keep things balanced, a different competition as in not picking winners yet strangely I was outed for having four winners, ironic indeed. Mostly everyone loved the comp I have had many messages I think the format was ideal just a shame unforseen circumstances caused it to be abbreviated. mrzim 338 Report post Posted December 5, 2021 A very good comp.Just one favourite winning can change the whole result. It’s really a lot of luck as to what favourites you actually pick.Always a lot of fun trying to pick the right losers. Disillusioned 389 Report post Posted December 6, 2021 Lemme echo Scooby's comments - the comps are well run ( to Ponderosa), fun (Hell, I even won one this year!) and the every-so-often-change in the format helps keep it interesting. napier, Insider, Memphis3 and 3 others 4

Hi Scooby, I am still in for a competition based on either the first day of the Wellington Cup Carnival or Cup Day. ($200.00) The format doesn’t worry me. Probably picking the winner, quinella and the trifecta on such a “proper” racing day would be better than trying to pick a looser! Sayer 180 Report post Posted December 17, 2021 Hi Scooby Thought I had better try and get a few $$$ for the team. Keep all/any proceeds for future comps. Awapuni Race 8 Cherry Lane. Not paying much so if you like to change the rules and put all on the win that would be fine with me. Cheers and thanks again for the comp. High Sparrow 702 Report post Posted December 18, 2021 Thanks Scooby. Never raised a sweat and Hughie Bowman looked like he was easing it down halfway up the straight as if there was something amiss to me. High Sparrow 702 Report post Posted December 19, 2021 Bummer! But this is racing as we know it. Steward's reports from Randwick race 6. Mollycoddle – Began only fairly. Rider H Bowman advised that when placed under pressure in the straight Mollycoddle did not respond to his riding and after persisting for some distance when the mare continued to not respond over the final 150m he did not test Mollycoddle to the finish when it was placed out of contention. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame (2/5) in the off-foreleg. Stable representative Mr D Beadman was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the mare barrier trialling or racing again.
