Palliser 759 Report post Posted September 15, 2021 Here we go again, Rosanowski explained why meeting called off, and mentioned it's becoming more common these days. I would suggest that is correct, but only really at bloody Wanganui, obviously something is not right with this surface. If everytime it rains there is going to be an issue then what is the point, trainers coming from elsewhere will be extremely wary of venturing there for some of the money races leaving it open for the monopoly kennel to win even more. This club has abandoned meetings for all sorts of reasons, with the surface being a dominant reason.

Gary Sharp 224 Report post Posted September 25, 2021 Racing at Hatrick indefinitely suspended 23 September 2021 Greyhound Racing New Zealand (GRNZ) has announced that racing at Hatrick Raceway is indefinitely suspended, commencing immediately. GRNZ has made this decision in consultation with the Racing Integrity Board, amid ongoing safety concerns around the Wanganui track. “The health and welfare of our greyhounds is paramount,” said Glenda Hughes, CEO GRNZ. An independent assessment and review of the Wanganui track will be urgently conducted. “We will use the findings of the assessment to implement the changes necessary to ensure that the track provides consistently safe footing for our greyhounds,” added Hughes. GRNZ will advise participants of changes to upcoming race schedules as soon as these schedules are confirmed.
