Eclipsed 245 Report post Posted September 28, 2021 The Methven track suffered a freak occurrence a few weeks back. A mini tornado dumped soil from nearby property onto both Methven's home bend, as well as neighbouring properties on the same wind trajectory. Properties across the road from the track had strong winds, but no soil dump. In consultation with HRNZ, the Club has determined that the racing surface would not be ready come Sunday week, to host racing. The Methven Cup meeting on Sunday 10th October will now be held at Orari - top marks to the Geraldine TC for having their track in a ready to race condition. Most likely still in Level 2 rules however we live in hope! Methven TC believes that their next meeting, ,scheduled for Friday 29th October, will see a return to the home base. Plus, that we are in a level 1 situation where people can bring their bbq's and chilly bins to enjoy a beaut Friday afternoon's racing.
