Overall there are 98 jumps races planned over 31 meetings.Ellerslie holds four of those meetings. There are 10 meetings considered Premier where the main steeples and hurdlers race for min $50 k. Ellerslie holds 3 of those meetings including the Great Northern meeting in Sept where the two big races are $125k each . Two steeples races per day means 8 races go over the hill all year. Today the weather is like the current Aussie cricket team....and their rugby teams etc etc......BLEAK. Constant drizzle will mean track very heavy and folk attending will be less than the staff there. So jumps lovers need to BET heavily on Jumps races to sustain them and the few trainers and riders who prepare the horses ! A lot of us love the the jumps ,but few go to watch and fewer bet on them. But only bet money you can afford to lose so bet with your shoelaces not your shoes JJ Flash

Just got my package for Everest Day in October - been to three of those but not, sadly, the last one due to effing Covid. Redzel was the best horse I ever made megabucks on. Want to go visit him, now in happy retirement, and say 'Ta, mate!' in person... JJ Flash

Name the biggest jumps races in those States , they seem to strive to be the biggest and best racing states in NZ. Certainly targeted a lot in flat racing by the champions CWaller[NZ] and JMcDonald[NZ] JJ Flash
