It looks like Jacinda Ardern’s He Puapua plan to set up two governments under a tribal monitoring committee within the next 19 years is quietly rolling on. The steps so far are:

  1. The abolition of the right of local communities to hold binding referenda on Maori wards.
  2. Forcing Maori language and culture on to government departments and local authorities, while the state-funded media replaced news with separatist propaganda.
  3. Replacing English names of places, streets, towns, buildings, and government agencies with Maori names. Even the nation’s name “New Zealand” is being changed by stealth. 
  4. Setting up a separate Maori Health Authority with veto rights over the entire health system.
  5. Transferring the marine and coastal area to Maori, with a precedent set two weeks ago by the High Court in the Bay of Plenty.
  6. Transferring ownership of the conservation estate to private tribal entities, as recommended by the Options Development Group.
  7. Imposing 50-50 council-tribal control over water through the Three Waters Reform.
  8. Imposing a revised history curriculum, that looks more like Maori studies, which intends to indoctrinate our children about the evils of colonisation.

Are you wondering why NZ’s media has suddenly gone crazy on Maori language and other Maori issues? 

The answer is simple. Money. 

Your money, given to them by Jacinda Ardern. 

Most shockingly, its all part of Labour’s nefarious plan to install a Maori “partnership” govt, as indicated by the recently discovered He Puapua document.

In order to qualify for the govt grants (Jacinda’s “rescue package”) media have to jump through hoops, and embracing the ideas of the radical Maori separatists who make up a large part of the Labour govt is one of them.

To get their grubby grasping hands on the $55 million in the second tranche of funding for “Public Interest Journalism”, media must agree to staff training in “Te Tiriti Education”. Journalism funded under the scheme must

“actively promote the principles of Partnership, Participation and Active Protection under Te Tiriti o Waitangi acknowledging Māori as a Te Tiriti partner.”

Get it? In order to qualify for the handouts, media must acknowledge and do propaganda identifying the TOW as the basis for a “partnership”. 

This claim of course is completely false. A lie. A big lie. 

There was never any partnership proposed in the treaty.

Jacinda Ardern and her Maori caucus are paying the New Zealand media to lie, and the New Zealand media are so cravenly unprincipled, broke and worthless, they’re happy to do so. The first eligibility requirement listed in the application advice package is-

“Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and to Māori as a Te Tiriti partner

As well, there are requirements for staffing-

Appropriate people attached to the project in leadership roles who can manage and advise on these cultural and spiritual aspects of the production at critical stages (e.g. research, language advisors)

This is a clear direction for the use of Maori separatist radicals. 

Now we know what Broadcaster Minister Kris Faafoi was telling the media when he visited every newsroom in the country prior to the last election.

To summarise, the Ardern govt and the NZ media (by means of dollars taken from you) are combined in an illegitimate defacto govt who are really controlled by the Maori caucus of Labour, and they are intent on pushing the “partnership” structure as the rightful govt of NZ. In other words, a complete standing on its head of our current Westminster based democracy.

Would 52% of NZ’ers have voted for Jacinda in the 2020 election if they had known this truth? Doubtful. 

The country has been lied to and conned by Jacinda Ardern in the worst possible way, and the NZ media are in boots and all.

He spent ten years (1994-2004) as a tribunal member of the Waitangi Tribunal that deals with claims by New Zealand’s first settlers, the Maori. Between 2009 and 2013 he was a Board member of the Museum of New Zealand: Te Papa Tongarewa.

In the New Year’s Honours 2018 Dr Bassett was appointed a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit (CNZM) for his services to history.

 New Zealanders' Modern Cultural Cringe

A bizarre craze seems to be sweeping New Zealand right now. All things derived from Europe except our creature comforts must be set aside as we are expected to embrace all things Maori. 

It's racism on a grand scale. No longer do our television stations refer to New Zealand. In fact, we are lucky if its Aotearoa-New Zealand. 

No reference to the fact that, as Michael King shows, Maori didn't have a name for these lands, and only came to accept "Aotearoa" in relatively recent times. 

Several newspapers are falling into line and are now calling our country Aotearoa, a name unknown to most people beyond our shores. 

No public debate. We are expected to acquiesce. The name "New Zealand" which dates back to Abel Tasman's visit in 1642 came more into early use and is the name by which our land has always been recognized abroad. It won't be long before the woke who are driving all this insist on officially changing our country's name. 

Instead of being proud New Zealanders, we'll be expected to call ourselves Aotearoaians. They'll try to avoid a referendum lest it results in rejection like occurred with changing the flag. Just impose it! The woke have no respect for democracy.

Government departments and public institutions are being renamed at such a rapid rate that it isn't clear what the names refer to. Waka Kotahi for Transport? Why? 

Since all forms of transport except the canoe were unknown to Maori, and were imported from overseas, why a Maori name? Where did Waka Kotahi come from? Waka, yes. But Kotahi? It doesn't appear in the revered Bruce Biggs' Maori dictionary. Waka Kotahi wasn't a term used by Maori before settlers arrived in the 1840s and 1850s. There are other institutions with self-bestowed Maori names that are unrecognizable to ordinary Kiwis.

Radio New Zealand, too, has been working full time. They are deleting the words both "radio" and "New Zealand" from everyday use. Nowadays it's "Te Irirangi o Aotearoa" or "RNZ". Don't mention dreaded English terms! Some Radio New Zealand reporters fall over themselves trying to conform to a ruling from on high that they should introduce themselves in Te Reo, despite the fact that the concept of radio came from overseas, and was absolutely unknown to Maori.

We have also been told recently that all streets in New Zealand are to be given a Maori name. Wow. That will be an expensive exercise! Who will dream up the new names? The Maori Language Commission that seems to be churning out new words at 200 kph? 

And since Maori were very thin on the ground in the Auckland area in 1840 and were soon rapidly outnumbered by settlers, it won't be appropriate either. A relevant fact provided to members of the Waitangi Tribunal during the Kaipara case I heard was that in 1840 there were only 800 Maori living on the million acres of land between the Kaipara and East Tamaki. That fact will be conveniently overlooked. Nothing is sufficiently disrespectful for Pakeha whose street names quite often have family or historical significance to them.

Similar examples of cultural cringe are showing up with the move to teach New Zealand history in our schools. 

Scratch the surface and it becomes clear that those driving the idea want to downplay the huge significance of the arrival of European culture in New Zealand.

Rather, they intend to replace it with only partially accurate accounts of the difficulties Maori faced when brought into contact with a more developed culture. 

Recently, I sought from the Ministry of Education details about who was designing the curriculum. 

Back came the names of a couple of black arm band school teachers and a collection of Maori radicals. There were a couple of academics, both Maori. No serious Pakeha historian in sight. 

We can say with certainty that a skewed version of New Zealand history will be devised, one that leaves out things like the Musket Wars where Maori did irreparable harm to their own economy and society. 

Instead, there will be much concentration on "evil" colonial land purchasers and settler governments, and excessive Maori land confiscations at the end of the wars of the 1860s. About the last of these, of course students must be told. The confiscations came on top of the damage that Maori had already done to themselves and helped further depress the Maori economy and damage Maori society. 

But what is taught to modern students should not exclude everything that reflects badly on Maori themselves. Moreover, kids need to know that up to 50% of Maori in the country in the 1860s sided with the Crown. And they need to be told why. The term "Kupapa Maori" to describe those Maori is regarded by modern Maori as equivalent to being called an "Uncle Tom". But it was respected in earlier times.

And if one needs any more evidence that cultural cringe has reached massive proportions in Auckland, have a look at the programme for the Auckland Arts Festival between 4-21 March 2021. Its Maori name, Te Ahurei Toi O Tamaki, takes precedence on the front cover. 

Remember, that in Auckland, Maori are only 11.5% of the total population. Pacific Islanders are 13% of Auckland's population and Asians constitute more than 25%, according to the latest census. 

People of European ethnicity make up more than 50% of Auckland's population, but in the eyes of the organisers of the festival they don't count. 

The programme includes "kapa haka, Maori artists, waiata sing alongs and korero [that] will bring the taonga that is te reo front and centre for audiences". Really? In a city where almost 90% of people are not of Maori ethnicity? 

Why hasn't Auckland City, Creative New Zealand, Foundation North and a collection of worthy sponsors spared a thought for the overwhelming majority of Auckland citizens and ratepayers? Where is the "equity" in this festival?

Answer: too much power has been allowed to slip into the hands of crusaders who for too long seem to have been able to commandeer the resources of others for their own political ends.

When, or will, Aucklanders, and New Zealanders as a whole, stop cringing and wake up to what is being done to their culture and largely with their money?

Also a pretty respectable hard rock band back in the day, and for many years home to a NZ bass player, Gary Thain, who was ultimately electrocuted on stage.

SEPTEMBER 15, 1974 – Uriah Heep bassist Gary Thain (May 15, 1948 – December 8, 1975) was nearly electrocuted onstage at the Moody Coliseum in Dallas, Texas during a rainstorm. The band members didn’t immediately realize what was happening, and continued playing until he hit the floor. I just happen to watch that yesterday, and from his Korero, it gave a misrepresentation from the very outset. Which is highlighted in his constant references to separatism, which speaks louder than the issues he attempts to highlight.

With such a mindset engrained it is leads down a wayward path... and doesnt acknowledge some of the simple truths he forgets!!

And that is Maori are the Tangata Whenua of this Land, the absence or omission of this simple historic truth is a failure on Elliots part to then take his view seriously.

I had debated with him on Twitter over Winston Peters, and his constant attacks and his contempt for Peters, which tells me he doesnt know history too well, nor does he truely understand the world of Politics, or for that matter know who the real enemies are(Mainstream Media), which was colouring all his thinking concerning Peters

As our debate continued, he would not relent, and continually attempted to blow out the light of Winston Peters and snatch support from the younger Generation, much like the leader of Nzconservatives, but alas he got his wish, and now Winston Peters is sidelined for the time being, and he failed to make the cut!!

THE DAMAGE DONE BY ROBIN COOKE

In 1987, in the landmark case of New Zealand Maori Council v Attorney-General before the Court of Appeal, the President of the Court, Cooke J., held that “the Treaty [of Waitangi] created an enduring relationship of a fiduciary nature akin to a partnership [between Maori and the Crown], each party accepting a positive duty to act in good faith, fairly, reasonably and honourably towards the other”.

And thus began a fight, which continues to this day, about the meaning of the word “partnership”.
 
To most New Zealanders, the Treaty of Waitangi was an exceedingly simple one-page document which involved those Maori chiefs who signed it (and not all did) surrendering such sovereignty as they possessed to the British Crown, and having their property rights protected in return, with all New Zealanders being given the “rights and privileges of British subjects”.
 
That this was the understanding of those chiefs who signed the Treaty is abundantly clear from speeches made by the chiefs at the time of the signing, and by the largest ever gathering of chiefs 20 years later at Kohimarama. It was explicit in a speech made by Sir Apirana Ngata on the centenary of the signing of the Treaty in 1940.
 
But ever since Cooke’s comment in 1987, Maori radicals and their Pakeha allies have sought to reinterpret the Treaty to mean that what it really meant was a relationship between two equal partners, part-Maori on the one hand and everybody else on the other.
 
Notwithstanding the fact that political leaders as different as David Lange and Winston Peters have explicitly rejected this understanding of the word “partnership”, it has gained traction over recent years, most strongly this year.
 
Near the beginning of the year, the Government retroactively changed the law applying to local government elections, under urgency, to prevent ratepayers having the right, enshrined in law, to have a say on whether race-based wards should be established.
 
In the middle of April, the Government was forced to acknowledge the so-called He Puapua report, commissioned by the Government in March 2019, completed in November of that year, but kept confidential both from the New Zealand First part of the coalition Government and from the public until months after the October 2020 election. This extraordinary document – and there is no other adjective to describe it – envisages that by 2040 New Zealand should have two completely separate governmental structures – one for Maori (“for Maori by Maori”) and the other for everybody else.
 
A few days later, as if to confirm that the Government was committed to this objective notwithstanding denials, the Minister of Health announced that the entire health system would be restructured. There would be a separate Maori Health Authority, a Health Authority for everybody else, with the Maori Health Authority having a power of veto over the spending plans of the general Health Authority.
 
A couple of weeks later, Justice Peter Churchman announced his decision in the first major case brought under the foreshore and seabed legislation, the Marine and Coastal Area (Takutai Moana) Act 2011. When this law was introduced by the then National Government, the Minister responsible for the law, Chris Finlayson, assured New Zealanders that for any claimant to be successful in lodging a claim for customary title to the foreshore (and the minerals under it) they would have to prove continuous and exclusive occupation of the land adjacent to the foreshore since 1840. He assured New Zealanders that there would be very few claimants able to meet that “continuous and exclusive” test.
 
In the case decided in early May, there were six claimants to the relevant coastline – thus making exclusive occupation difficult to establish surely – but the judge simply elevated the status of Maori tikanga above the status of the common law tests in the Act. Astonishingly, the Government joined an Interested Party appeal of the decision as an “intervenor” in the case, rather than appealing it in their own right despite the fact that, if the decision stands, it opens the way for successful claims to the entire coastline.
 
On 6 May, the Assistant Governor of the Reserve Bank gave a speech to the Institute of Directors in Auckland entitled “The Future is Maori”, including a number of Maori words understood by few, if any, of his audience. Had he given a speech entitled “The Future is Pakeha” he would have been run out of town, and rightly so.
 
At about the same time, the Minister of Local Government, Nanaia Mahuta, advised New Zealand’s 67 local councils that she proposed to acquire the Three Waters infrastructure of all these councils and merge them into four very large regional entities. The logic of this proposal looks entirely suspect: what possible efficiencies can be gained by merging the Three Waters infrastructure of Greymouth, Christchurch and Invercargill (all of them to be part of Entity D), or of Nelson, Wellington, Napier and Gisborne (all of them to be part of Entity C) escapes me. In fact the whole proposal, involving acquiring assets from local government for cents in the dollar, appears to make no sense at all until one looks at the proposed governance of these four entities – 50% of the governance boards are to be made up of tribal appointees, with a requirement that all decisions require a 75% majority, thus giving the tribal appointees a veto over all decisions.
 
And has there been an outcry at Mahuta’s proposal? Well yes, most councils appear to oppose the Minister’s proposal but on the grounds that ratepayers would be ripped off by having assets which they have paid for over decades summarily confiscated, with very little compensation. There have been almost no voices raised about the proposed intention to give tribal appointees effective control of the four entities, presumably because mayors, councillors and politicians are reluctant to be portrayed as “racist”.
 
By common consent, one of the most urgent legislative needs is to have the Resource Management Act replaced by new legislation which streamlines the consenting process. But what the Government has proposed by way of replacement, the Natural and Built Environments Bill, seems certain to make matters worse if the Bill becomes law in anything like its present form. Decision-making is devolved to Planning Committees which must include “mana whenua representatives” (plural) making it explicit that Maori New Zealanders must not just be “consulted” before any consents are granted, they must positively approve such consents, giving them a right enjoyed by no other New Zealanders.
 
And in the background, we see increasing deference to the Cooke interpretation of the Treaty:

• The Government has decided to have a particularly biased interpretation of New Zealand History taught in all schools, a syllabus which, on the basis of what we know so far, will portray pre-1840 Maori society as peaceful and agreeable, and will gloss over the Musket Wars, widespread cannibalism and slavery.

• There is increasing effort to have all New Zealand children learn some of the Maori language, even though it is a language which is of no practical value for the great majority of New Zealanders, and to ensure that taxpayer-funded media inject more and more Maori words understood by almost none of their audience.

• Almost every official or semi-official meeting begins with a few paragraphs of introduction in the Maori language, even though not 2% of most audiences understand a word of what is being said.

• When the report of the Oranga Tamariki Advisory Board was released in late September – a Board appointed by a Maori Minister and made up entirely of Maori members – Debbie Ngawera-Packer, the co-Leader of the Maori Party, stated that “A by Maori for Maori, according to Maori approach is the bare minimum. Not a by Maori, for Maori, according to Pakeha approach. For Te Pati Maori, this means establishing an independent Mokopuna Maori entity with at least $600 million to go directly to Maori”. That was an explicit demand that taxpayers hand over $600 million with no strings attached.

The irony perhaps is that Maori activists are a very small minority of the population. Nobody knows for certain how many New Zealanders have more Maori than non-Maori ancestors. When Statistics New Zealand asks people to indicate their ethnicity on the census questionnaire, any person of mixed ancestry is counted as “Maori” if they mention “Maori” as one part of their ethnicity. So a person who has one grand-parent who is Maori and three grand-parents who are European, or Chinese, is “counted” as Maori for the purpose of the census. In principle, if a person has one great-great-great grandparent (of 32) who is Maori, as a friend of mine has, he would be counted as Maori in the census (although I don’t know whether he in fact mentions his Maori ancestry when completing his census form).

And of course a great many Maori New Zealanders want to be treated like all other New Zealanders.
The tragedy is that some Maori New Zealanders have developed a radical interpretation of what the Treaty really meant, encouraged by Robin Cooke.
 
This was brought home to me when I read a news item from Waatea News. This quoted Professor Papaarangi Reid, a professor at Auckland University. Professor Reid’s mother was English and her father was called William John Reid, though presumably was at least part-Maori. She complained that Maori New Zealanders who are overseas were being given no preference in the lottery system the Government has introduced to get into the MIQ system. She said that:
 
"Maori are being treated as if they only have rights as citizens under Article 3 of the Treaty, but their Article 2 rights should also be recognised, such as the right to cultural practices like kawe mate. There might also be other people who we allow in for compassionate reasons but I think if we want to be kind, that’s the first thing we have to do, to allow people the rights for institutions like kawe mate to happen but also for people who need to come home on iwi business, whanau business and their own personal wairua business."
If Professor Reid’s interpretation of the Treaty is accepted, that those New Zealanders who chance to have one or more Maori ancestors have a superior constitutional status, New Zealand is doomed.

The essence of this article comes down to the finality of what we know as New Zealand, and for some reason... the Chicken Littles are crying out THE SKY IS FALLING!!

Don Brash was never considered to be Maori friendly, so his doomsayer thinking is no suprise.

 

What people of New Zealand need to realise... is we are transitioning into a new time & season!!( i have been saying this!!)

many wont want the change & cry for the old times looking back to how it was... some will live as they have been living..  but the Kingdom Builders will create the change and will move forward into the Future that is New Zealand Aotearoa!!
