Exactly. Look at Polly Grey winning a number of listed races worth $150k+. The listed Gosford Cup she won was worth $250k, more than most of our feature G1's. IMNSHO Like the nsho - might use that. Its not as much as the old Singapore first win reward model, but think it helps repay some of the front loaded costs associated with achieving that first win... comprehtendi? Sure, racing needs its 'biggy' prizes but those 'biggy' prizes tend to be won by a precious few - think of all the Melbourne Cups that have been by European raiders of late . I find it refreshing that those on the first step 'in town' are getting a bit of leg up room ... although I'm not sure $5,000 would get you more than a couple of coffees on Lygon St these days!
